Percy Jackson fans finally have a clear picture of when they will return to Camp Half-Blood. Disney+ has confirmed that Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 will premiere with two episodes on Friday, November 20, 2026, followed by two new episodes dropping each week on Disney+ and Hulu. The eight-episode season will wrap up its run on December 11, 2026—a much faster rollout than previous seasons. The news was confirmed by series star Walker Scobell during the New York Comic-Con panel on October 10, 2026, where he also treated fans to an exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming season.
The new schedule marks a shift from how the first two seasons were released. Seasons 1 and 2 both dropped their first two episodes together before switching to a one-episode-per-week format that stretched into January. Season 3 instead doubles the weekly output, meaning the full season will be available for streaming in just four weeks.
The New Release Schedule Breaks the Old Pattern
Percy Jackson and the Olympians has followed a December release pattern for its first two seasons. Season 1 arrived in December 2023, and Season 2 followed in December 2024, both running into the new year with weekly episode drops. Season 3 is arriving about two weeks earlier than usual and will wrap before the holiday season ends.
The shift to two episodes per week is also a first for the series. The official announcement came during the NYCC Main Stage panel, where Scobell shared the news with excited fans in attendance.
Fans Think It Is About Avoiding Harry Potter
The release schedule change has sparked a wave of discussion among the Percy Jackson fanbase, and a lot of it centers on one theory: Disney+ wants to get Season 3 out of the way before HBO’s Harry Potter series arrives this Christmas.
A fan on Reddit put it plainly: “Interesting. So they want to avoid competition with Harry Potter at all cost”. Another fan pointed out that the Percy Jackson season would be completely finished with its eight-episode run before the HBO Harry Potter show even begins airing.
Not every fan sees it as a bad thing. One viewer said they actually liked the new release strategy for its own sake, without bringing Harry Potter into the conversation at all.
The comparison between the two franchises is not new. Percy Jackson has often been described as a spiritual cousin to Harry Potter, with both series following young heroes discovering magical worlds and confronting dark forces. The fact that both are getting major screen adaptations around the same time has made the release timing a hot topic.
What Season 3 Will Cover
Season 3 adapts The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan’s bestselling series. This is the first time this particular story will be brought to screen—the 2010s film adaptations never reached this book. The official synopsis reads: “When Annabeth is captured by the forces of Kronos, Percy must embark on a perilous journey to rescue her. He must free a goddess in chains, confront the Titan’s curse, and avoid triggering the fall of Olympus. With Grover by his side, Percy must join some unlikely questmates to confront a prophecy with dire consequences”.
Walker Scobell returns as Percy Jackson, alongside Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood. Dafne Keen joins the cast as the goddess Artemis, and Saara Chaudry plays Zoë Nightshade. Other new additions include Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite, Ming-Na Wen as Hera, and Holt McCallany. Tamara Smart returns as Thalia Grace, and Levi Chrisopulos plays Nico di Angelo, with Olive Abercrombie as Bianca di Angelo.

During the NYCC panel, Walker Scobell did not hold back when describing what fans can expect from the new episodes. He warned the crowd that Season 3 is the “scariest” for him yet, saying, “This is the scariest season to go into”.
The panel also showed a clip from the season premiere, featuring a scene where Percy and Annabeth share a slow dance that doubles as a 360-degree stakeout. Fans in attendance noted how much older the cast looks in the new season.
Where to Watch
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 will be available on Disney+ and Hulu in the United States. For viewers in the UK, Canada, Australia, India, and other global markets, the season will stream on Disney+ in their respective regions on the same date. The first two seasons are already available on Disney+ for anyone who wants to catch up before the new season begins.
The two-episode premiere drops on November 20, 2026, with two new episodes every Friday after that. The season finale is set for December 11, 2026.
