A 25-year-old Belgian man who was officially diagnosed with psychopathy sat down for a candid interview and revealed exactly how people like him pick their targets. But instead of focusing on his disturbing confessions, many viewers could not stop talking about his hair.
Loic De Marie, diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) and psychopathy at age 23, opened up about his life in a “Minutes With” interview for LADbible Stories. He discussed his childhood, his lack of remorse, and how he manipulates people. However, the comments section quickly turned into a roast session about his unusual hairstyle.
Loic De Marie Explains How Psychopaths Choose Their Targets
During the interview, De Marie explained that psychopaths have strong instincts for spotting vulnerable people. He said he could often tell a lot about someone just by watching how they walked or talked.
He admitted to deliberately looking for women he considered easier targets. These included women who grew up without fathers, those dealing with depression, and people who showed high levels of empathy. His reasoning was simple—he could get what he wanted faster from these individuals.
“We got this brain wired differently. So we tend to have more attraction to dopamine and to results.”
De Marie linked his behavior to how psychopaths are more drawn to dopamine and achieving results. Successfully manipulating someone gave him a rewarding feeling. He also explained that manipulation starts with earning trust. Instead of appearing threatening, he used charm to make it easier.
He mentioned that psychopaths can also spot fake charm in others. According to him, they recognize certain behaviors and mannerisms that normal people often miss.
“For a normal person, sorry guys, but the chances are against you because it’s very difficult.”
De Marie compared spotting a psychopath to spotting a vampire, saying it is very difficult. He warned that psychopaths use charm to win people over, and by the time someone realizes what is happening, it is already too late.

Childhood Signs and Diagnosis
De Marie shared that he felt different from other children from a young age. One of the earliest signs came when he was six years old. His three-year-old sister fell into the family swimming pool and started drowning. Instead of helping, he sat and watched because he did not want to get his clothes wet.
“I looked at her, and I was saying to myself, ‘Oh, that’s interesting. That’s a weird situation’, while she was struggling to get out.”
His mother came outside and saw what was happening. She saved the girl and asked why he did not jump in. He replied, “Mom, my clothes are clean”. His mother realized something was different about him at that moment.
De Marie also recalled another incident when a school friend died in a car accident. He could not understand why everyone around him was crying.
He was officially diagnosed at age 23 after taking the PCL-R test, the same test given to prisoners. Along with psychopathy, he was also diagnosed with impulsivity and narcissistic tendencies.
What Emotions De Marie Can and Cannot Feel
De Marie clarified that psychopaths do feel emotions, but not in the same way as other people. He said he can feel frustration, anger, joy, and happiness. He laughs a lot and enjoys life.
But there are emotions he simply cannot experience.
“Never any guilt. No matter what I’ve done, never. I don’t regret anything.”
He also cannot feel remorse or empathy. He explained that sociopaths can feel remorse or empathy, but psychopaths do not have that ability.
“I never felt remorse; I’ve never felt bad for what I’ve done, no matter what I’ve done.”
He described living with psychopathy as playing a game. He learns through observation and acts in ways that help him get what he needs from people.

De Marie wants people to understand that not every psychopath is violent or dangerous. He said many people assume psychopaths are killers, but that is not true.
“There is one psychopath for every 100 people. So, in the global population, that’s a lot. Just imagine if all psychopaths were killers. It would be carnage, like a constant nightmare.”
He explained that psychopaths can be highly successful and charismatic people. He said they often practice facial expressions in the mirror to mimic normal emotions.
He also addressed the misconception that psychopaths look cold and gloomy. He said they are often the smiliest people in the room.
“That’s not the case, because very often the psychopath is the smileiest person in the room. He’ll make you laugh, he’ll make you have a good time.”
Charm is one of their most powerful tools. They use it to get close to people before anyone realizes what is happening.
