A Sky News interview took an unexpected turn when UFO author Jonathan Caplan KC made a bold statement that left presenter Wilfred Frost visibly surprised. Caplan, a King’s Counsel and one of Britain’s top barristers, told the news anchor there is “no question” that aliens have visited Earth.
The conversation happened during a live Sky News segment where Caplan was promoting his new book Not for Disclosure. The author, who has spent around 50 years researching UFOs and UAPs (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena), did not hold back on his views. He told Frost that the evidence supporting alien visits is overwhelming and that governments around the world have hidden the truth from the public for decades.
Frost, known for his composed interviewing style, appeared taken aback by Caplan’s confident claims. The presenter pointed out that Caplan’s legal work is all about evidence and proving what can be backed up in court. Caplan agreed and said that is exactly why he has focused on real evidence rather than just stories from people who claim to have seen something.
Jonathan Caplan Says Evidence for Alien Visits Is Overwhelming
Caplan made it clear that his beliefs are not based on simple UFO sightings. He told Frost he has looked at other types of evidence too, including data that he believes supports the existence of the phenomenon. He pointed to reports of UAPs appearing around nuclear facilities and said some had also been seen during military exercises. Caplan also referred to intelligence officials who, he says, have come forward about what they know.
The author then took viewers back to the 1940s, when he says the United States began officially trying to dismiss claims about UFOs. According to Caplan, Britain and other Five Eyes countries later took a similar approach. He claimed that the government has known about aliens for centuries and yet kept the information hidden from the public.
Caplan also made a serious allegation about Congress. He said:
“In Washington, it’s an open secret uh that it is and the debate now is trying to force disclosure um because Congress has been misled for 80 years.”
He continued by saying that governments in many countries around the world have followed the same policy to hide this phenomenon from more public exposure. He further alleged that public money had been used to fund UAP programs without Congress being properly informed. Caplan said there is now a growing push for the Pentagon to release more information about what it knows.

Why Governments Keep UFO Secrets Hidden, According to Caplan
Caplan offered two possible reasons why governments do not talk about aliens and their aircraft publicly. First, he believes the technology involved could give a country a huge advantage if it could be understood and used. He even claimed that the USA has found crashed craft material since 1940 and so have other countries. Caplan believes that the government has spent years figuring out how to use the technology.
But he also thinks there is another reason for the secrecy: governments may not have all the answers themselves. Caplan says there are still basic questions about where these objects come from, what they want and whether they are friendly. He believes making such a discovery public without knowing the answers could cause fear and confusion.
Caplan also said the US, China and Russia all have programs looking into the issue. His book Not for Disclosure is described as the most serious and sourced book ever published on the subject of UAPs. It includes significant new material including information about JFK and secret meetings held by President Truman and Secretary Forrestal. The book became a Sunday Times Bestseller shortly after its release.
The interview has since gained attention across social media and news platforms. People are talking about Caplan’s claims and what they could mean for the ongoing debate about UFOs and government transparency.
