During the episode, Samay Raina joked about Sharon’s Bihari roots, and she fired back with a quip about his Kashmiri roots. The Bihari and Kashmiri Jokes That Sparked Controversy

During the roast exchange, Samay Raina joked, “She is so Bihari; she thinks ‘Ebola’ means someone said something.” Sharon Verma responded, “Samay is so Kashmiri; he loves getting stoned.” Samay added, “Sharon Verma is a Bihari who came to Mumbai in search of a job. Just Bihari things.” Sharon replied, “At least I left my state by my choice.”
The remarks drew backlash from BJP MLA Ram Kadam, who criticised the comedians for making jokes about Kashmiri Pandits and people from Bihar.
“There are certain forces in society that deliberately make controversial statements simply to gain publicity. Their sole objective is to become famous. We need to understand that the deities of Sanatan Hinduism and Kashmiri Pandits cannot be treated as subjects of ridicule. Someone cannot deliberately do something offensive and then simply apologise afterwards. In the meantime, they get the publicity they wanted across the country for free.”
Samay Raina Also Linked to Medha Shankr
Sharon Verma is not the only woman Samay Raina has been linked to by fans. The comedian has also faced dating speculation involving actor Medha Shankr, best known for playing Shraddha Joshi in 12th Fail. Medha recently appeared on India’s Got Latent 2 alongside Varun Dhawan, Sharon Verma, and Nishant Tanwar.
During a magician segment featuring Kabir Sharma, the conversation turned to Samay’s friends. When the contestant asked him to name his “sabse achha dost” on the panel, Samay immediately picked Medha. His answer grabbed attention given the dating rumours surrounding the two. Reports also claimed that Samay and Medha were spotted on the same flight and later at Mumbai Airport. Neither Samay nor Medha has confirmed that they are dating.
