Episode 6 of the popular tvN rom-com Spring Fever delivered major developments in the central relationship, bringing Yoon Bom and Seon Jae-gyu’s simmering feelings to a head, only for chaos to interrupt.
The episode, which aired on January 20, 2026, saw the characters make a firm agreement to stay apart before a dramatic police arrest at Bom’s house sent the storyline in a wild new direction.
The Central Conflict: Confession and a Promise to Stay Apart
The emotional core of Episode 6 focused on the difficult choice between heart and duty. Yoon Bom finally admitted to Seon Jae-gyu that she has developed real feelings for him. However, she firmly stated her refusal to ever date a parent again, a boundary stemming from her past. In a grand romantic gesture, Jae-gyu responded by declaring he would wait for her until his nephew, Han-gyeol, graduates from high school.
Despite this deep confession, the pair made a mutual promise to keep their distance and maintain a strictly professional relationship moving forward. The production team for Spring Fever noted that this episode was a significant turning point, where the two leads “can no longer ignore their feelings for each other”. They described the emotional state as a “precarious tightrope walk” that was about to snap.
Rising Jealousy and Community Buzz
Even with their firm agreement in place, Bom and Jae-gyu found it impossible to suppress their emotions. The promise to stay professional did nothing to curb their growing jealousy toward one another. Their attempts to create distance were constantly undermined by their own hearts.
Meanwhile, Jae-gyu continued to be a major topic of gossip in the small town, living up to his reputation as the village’s “number one person to watch”. His unconventional actions consistently led to wild rumors and misunderstandings among the residents, keeping the community in a constant state of chatter about his latest antics.
The Dramatic Cliffhanger: An Arrest at Bom’s House
The episode’s closing moments delivered a huge dramatic twist that left viewers stunned. Newly released stills and episode details show Seon Jae-gyu being arrested by police right outside Yoon Bom’s house.
In the stills, Seon Jae-gyu looks at Yoon Bom with a frustrated, wronged expression. Yoon Bom, watching him being taken to the police station, shows a mix of surprise, confusion, and emotions that are hard to put into words.
The shocking scene shows Jae-gyu taken away in handcuffs while Bom and fellow teacher Choi Yi-joon watch in complete shock. Adding to the bizarre situation, one preview image shows Jae-gyu sprinting at full speed while still in handcuffs, hinting at a complete loss of control. Further stills reveal Bom and Yi-joon later visiting Jae-gyu behind bars, where he stands with his hands on his hips, visibly holding back anger.
