Boy group The KingDom has announced the official departure of member Hwon. This news comes just a few months after Hwon was placed on indefinite hiatus in October 2024, citing health reasons.
Hwon’s departure follows a period of controversy for the idol. In the months leading up to his hiatus, he was targeted by rumors alleging he had worked at a host bar and had ghosted a former girlfriend. Fans also raised questions about potential dating activities, with some speculating about photos showing Hwon at restaurants alongside an unidentified woman.
Shortly after these rumors surfaced, Hwon’s agency, GF Entertainment, announced his indefinite hiatus due to health concerns. Now, it appears those reasons have led to a permanent exit from the group.

The KingDom member Hwon has ended his participation in the group due to personal reasons. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this sudden news. Hwon’s departure marks the second time a member has left The KingDom. Previously, former member Chiwoo left the group in 2022, and Hwon joined soon after. The KingDom will now continue activities as a six-member group.
