Details of the Incident and Ongoing Investigation

According to recent reports, Suga was involved in a drunk-driving incident where he was found fallen over after driving an electric scooter. The incident, which occurred in Hannam-dong, led to immediate concern as his breathalyzer results indicated a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of over 0.2%. Given the severity of the results, the Korean police have launched an investigation. It is reported that the law views the operation of his electric scooter under the same regulations as car driving, which could result in criminal charges for the BTS member.

This news has triggered a significant reaction from fans, with many expressing their disappointment and anger over his actions.

Fans Call for Suga’s Withdrawal from BTS

In a dramatic response to the situation, on August 13, 2024, wreaths were sent to HYBE headquarters, urging Suga to leave the group. The messages on the wreaths were clear and strong, reflecting the disillusionment among the fans.

Below are some of the messages displayed on the wreaths:

  • Min Yoongi withdraw! Congrats on your downfall.
  • Free BTS
  • Withdraw Min Yoongi from the group. His downfall is imminent.
  • Withdraw, Min Yoongi. Aren’t you sorry to your members?
  • Min Yoongi, withdraw from the group as an apology to the members.

Netizens quickly took to online platforms to voice their support for those who sent the wreaths. The general sentiment among fans appears to be one of support for the idea of Suga taking responsibility for his actions by leaving the group.

Widespread Support Among Fans and Netizens

The situation has led to a division among the fanbase, with a segment of fans expressing their support for the withdrawal demands. Some of the reactions from fans and netizens include:

  • Fans are the ones suffering, really…
  • The ARMYs with a brain are working so hard. I’m supporting you! If he had any conscience at all, he’d leave the group.
  • There’s some photos I have on hand, but there are some chrysanthemum wreaths in the mix, so I don’t know if I can upload them.
  • Hwaiting.
  • The normal fans sure are suffering… Cheering for you!
  • It’s better for them to do that rather than physically be there and get taken away. Anyway, hwaiting to the fans.
  • They sent wreaths as individuals because they tried to stop truck protests by forcing people to pay to sign up [as members to hire trucks] LOL.

Previously, the public had already shown signs of dissatisfaction with Suga’s actions, and this latest incident appears to have only fueled the existing discontent.
