R. Scott Gemmill, the show’s creator, told Entertainment Weekly that season 3 will take place about four months after season 2 ended. Filming for The Pitt season 3 is scheduled to begin in June 2026. The show’s production team is currently writing the new season. Wyle told The Hollywood Reporter in March 2026, “We are in the process of writing character arcs for season three for everybody”.
The first two seasons both debuted in January. Season 1 came out in January 2025, and season 2 followed in January 2026. Based on this pattern, fans can expect season 3 to arrive in January 2027. HBO Max has not announced an official release date yet.
