The Evil Dead franchise is getting another bloody entry. Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema just released the first teaser trailer for Evil Dead Burn, and it looks terrifying. The movie will hit theaters on July 10, 2026. This is a slightly earlier release than first planned, moving up from July 24.

The new film marks the sixth movie in this long-running horror series. Sébastien Vaniček, the French director behind the 2023 spider horror film Infested, takes the director’s chair. He also co-wrote the script with Florent Bernard. Sam Raimi, who created the original Evil Dead trilogy, serves as an executive producer through his Ghost House Pictures banner alongside Robert Tapert.

What The Teaser Trailer Shows

The teaser runs just over one minute. It shows a woman covered in blood and burn marks crawling through a run-down house. Deadites appear all around her, crashing through walls and closing in from every side. The one-shot style clip creates a constant feeling of panic and movement. Bodies fly through furniture as the injured woman tries to escape.

The teaser does not give away much of the story. But it promises exactly what fans want from an Evil Dead movie. Blood. Chaos. And demonic possession. The short clip already has horror fans talking across social media platforms.

The official Instagram post from the studio carried a simple message: “Nowhere to hide. #EvilDeadBurn only in theatres July 10. Full trailer coming soon.”

The Story Behind The Bloodshed

The official logline gives a clear picture of what to expect. Evil Dead Burn is described as the franchise’s “most savage and terrifying ride to date” with “carnage and demonic mayhem.”

The plot follows a woman who recently lost her husband. She goes to stay with her in-laws at their secluded family home. She wants comfort and peace. What she gets instead is a nightmare. One by one, her husband’s family members turn into Deadites. The family gathering becomes a reunion from hell. The woman learns that the wedding vows she made in life still hold power even after death.

This is a standalone story. Viewers do not need to watch previous Evil Dead movies to understand what is happening. The movie exists in the same universe with Deadites and the Necronomicon, but it does not directly continue the plot of 2023’s Evil Dead Rise.

Who Stars In Evil Dead Burn

The cast brings together some rising stars. Souheila Yacoub, who appeared in Dune: Part Two and the Nicolas Cage film The Carpenter’s Son, leads the movie.

What The Director Promises

Vaniček has been clear about his approach. He wants to make a nasty film. A film that hurts. One that leaves audiences feeling tested.

“I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested. I’m going to put all the horror I have inside, it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue to make films beyond it, I will move on to something other than horror!” – Sébastien Vaniček, director of Evil Dead Burn

Vaniček also shared that Sam Raimi gave him complete creative freedom. The legendary director promised to protect Vaniček’s vision from studio interference. This is rare for a big franchise movie. Vaniček called Raimi “the only producer in the United States who has control over his franchise.”

The film will have what Vaniček calls a “French twist.” A central French character speaks English throughout the movie. Vaniček plans to complete post-production in France with his usual team.

How Evil Dead Rise Performed

The previous film, Evil Dead Rise, came out in 2023. It made $147 million worldwide. That made it the highest-grossing movie in the entire franchise. The film showed that audiences still love watching Deadites cause chaos. Warner Bros. is hoping Evil Dead Burn can match or beat that number.

A Seventh Movie Already In The Works

Fans will not have to wait long for more Evil Dead content after Burn. A seventh film called Evil Dead Wrath is already scheduled for release on April 7, 2028. Francis Galluppi will direct that entry. The cast includes Charlotte Hope from Game of Thrones and Jessica McNamee from Mortal Kombat.

The quick turnaround between movies shows the studio has confidence in the franchise. Evil Dead Wrath went into production as early as February 2026, even before Burn’s teaser came out.

Why This Matters For Horror Fans

The Evil Dead series started with Sam Raimi’s 1981 low-budget classic. The first film cost only $375,000 to make but earned $30 million. Since then, the franchise has survived through sequels, a 2013 reboot, and the 2023 revival.

What makes Evil Dead different from other horror series is its mix of genuine scares and dark humor. The new teaser suggests Evil Dead Burn leans harder into the horror side. But the franchise DNA remains intact. People getting possessed. People fighting for their lives. And lots of blood.
