Silaa Co-Stars Harshvardhan Rane and Karan Veer Mehra Unfollow Each Other on Instagram Ahead of February 2027 Release

Actors Harshvardhan Rane and Karan Veer Mehra, who appear together in the upcoming action-romance film Silaa, have reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram. The social media move comes days after the film’s release date was announced with fresh posters that did not feature Karan, who plays the main antagonist. Questions about the two actors’ off-screen equation have been growing since the promotional campaign for Silaa began focusing heavily on Harshvardhan.

The Instagram Unfollow That Started the Chatter

A well-placed industry source told Hindustan Times that the two actors have unfollowed each other on social media, and the timing has raised eyebrows. The report, published on October 27, 2026, states that the actors reportedly fell out after wrapping up the film.

“The two actors have unfollowed each other, and there is a reason people are questioning their equation. The film is being promoted in a way that makes it look like it revolves around just one actor, when both Harshvardhan and Karan are leads. One plays the hero and the other plays the villain, but Karan is nowhere to be seen in the promotional activity,” the source told Hindustan Times.

The source further claimed that Harshvardhan’s team is trying to keep the other lead actor out of the film’s promotional campaign. When Silaa was first announced, separate posters featuring Harshvardhan, Karan, and actress Sadia Khateeb were shared. The latest release-date announcement, however, did not include a new poster or mention of Karan.

Karan Veer Mehra Missing from Silaa Promotions

Karan Veer Mehra plays Zehraak, the antagonist in Silaa. He joined the project after winning Bigg Boss 18 in January 2025. His first look as Zehraak was released in July 2025, and at the time, the makers shared his poster on social media along with the leads’ looks.

The promotional material for the February 5, 2027 release date, announced on October 23, 2026, focused on Harshvardhan Rane’s character, Virat, and Sadia Khateeb’s titular role. Karan’s absence from the new posters and the release announcement has led fans to ask where the antagonist is in the film’s publicity plan.

“There are clear signs that Harshvardhan’s team is trying to cut out the other leading actor from the film’s promotional campaign. Now, even fans are questioning Karan’s whereabouts and why he is missing from the latest release-date announcement. The film is being presented as a Harshvardhan Rane film, which is factually not correct,” the industry source added.

What We Know About Silaa

Silaa is directed by Omung Kumar, known for films like Mary Kom and Sarbjit. The film is described as a romantic-action drama set across Kashmir and Vietnam. Along with Harshvardhan Rane, Sadia Khateeb, and Karan Veer Mehra, the cast includes Ipsitaa in a supporting role.

Production began in June 2025 and wrapped in April 2026. The film is produced by Zee Studios along with Blue Lotus Pictures and Stark Entertainment. The music is composed by Ankit Tiwari, Sachet-Parampara, Shreyas Puranik, and Alexia Evellyn. The story is written by Sameer Joshi, with dialogues by Aarambh Singh.

Harshvardhan Rane has described Silaa as one of his most physically demanding projects. In an earlier statement, he said the action sequences are closely tied to his character’s personal journey. Sadia Khateeb, who plays the title role, has also spoken about the film’s scale and the experience of shooting in Vietnam.

No Official Comment from Either Actor

The reported fallout and the reasons behind Karan’s absence from the promotions remain unconfirmed. Hindustan Times reached out to the teams of both actors for comment, but they were unavailable at the time of publication. Neither Harshvardhan Rane nor Karan Veer Mehra has publicly addressed the unfollowing or the promotional strategy.

Silaa is set to arrive in theatres on February 5, 2027. The film’s teaser and trailer are yet to be released, and it remains to be seen how the makers position both lead actors in the coming months.
