What the Anime Is About

Based on Isle Osaki’s light novel series, the story follows Makoto Takatsuki, a high school student and hardcore RPG player whose entire class is transported to another world after a bus crash. While his classmates receive powerful stats and unique skills, Makoto ends up with pathetic stats and weak abilities, stuck as an apprentice mage with only ten years to live. He meets Noah, a minor goddess with zero believers who appears in his dreams and asks him to become her first follower. Using Noah’s blessings and a divine weapon, Makoto sets out to grow stronger, rescue his goddess from the dungeon where she is trapped, and prove that an RPG player can clear even the hardest difficulty.

The light novel began on Shosetsuka ni Naro in May 2018 and has been published by Overlap Bunko since 2019, with 13 volumes illustrated by Tam-U. A manga adaptation by Hakuto Shiroi launched in Comic Gardo in 2020. J-Novel Club publishes both the light novel and manga in English.
