Aneha Singh, the breakout star of Love Is Blind season 11, is speaking out against racist messages she received after the show’s finale. The 28-year-old biotech engineer from Boston sat down with Vulture for an interview published on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, and read out some of the messages she has received from viewers.

The messages came after Aneha faced online criticism for comments she made about her fiancรฉ Cam Halloran‘s race and religion during the season. Some viewers called her racist for asking whether her parents would accept Cam because he is white and not Hindu. Aneha says the backlash gave strangers an opening to send her racist abuse of their own.

The Messages Aneha Read Out

Aneha told Vulture that the comments she received were both racist and contradictory. She read a message that summed up what she has been dealing with.

“I’ve had comments from people saying, ‘Go back to your country. Go on Love Is Blind India. Go find an auntie to set you up. You don’t belong here. You smell like curry.’ While telling me I’m racist. Make that make sense.”

The message combines several racist tropes at once. It tells Aneha she does not belong in the United States, suggests she should go to a different version of the show in India, and uses a stereotype about food and smell. The person who sent it was accusing Aneha of racism while using racist language themselves. Aneha pointed out this contradiction directly in her interview.

Why Viewers Called Aneha Racist

The criticism of Aneha started after two scenes aired during Love Is Blind season 11. The season was filmed in 2025 and began streaming on Netflix in October 2026.

One scene showed Aneha meeting Cam face to face for the first time after their engagement in the pods. Aneha made several comments about Cam’s appearance, including offering to arrange a “f***boy haircut” and suggesting he get “a piercing or something”. She later apologised for those comments in an interview with Tudum.

“Genuinely, I have no idea where that came from, and I’m so sorry โ€ฆ I was just trying to be flirty. I was trying to be cute, if anything, but it did not come off as cute.”

The second scene came from the seventh episode. Aneha was packing in a hotel room and talking to Cam about her parents. She asked whether her traditional Hindu parents would accept him because he is white and not Hindu. That moment, clipped and shared widely online, led many viewers to label Aneha racist.

Aneha told Vulture that the clips did not show the full picture. She said there were two moments where she and Cam talked about race and religion, and both were cut down for social media.

“There’s criticism of that clip where I ask, ‘Will my parents accept him because he’s white and not Hindu?’ None of that mattered, really. I know that’s hard to believe when I say that. There were two moments where me and Cam talked about that, and those two moments were clipped.”

Aneha Says She Has Dated People From All Backgrounds

Aneha pushed back on the idea that race or religion was the real reason for her worries. She said her fears about introducing Cam to her parents came from a personal place, not from prejudice.

“I’ve dated people of all different backgrounds. My insecurities came out because I’d never introduced a boy to my parents.”

She also addressed the racism accusations directly.

“People calling me racist is crazy, and I’m sure Cam would agree with that, but I can understand from the clips why it could sound like that.”

Aneha said she understood why the edited clips could make her look bad. She also said the current state of the world has made it easier for people to be openly racist toward her.

The Instagram Statement Aneha Shared

Before the Vulture interview, Aneha posted a statement on Instagram to explain her family’s response to Cam. The post has since been deleted, according to Soap Central, but parts of it were reported by several outlets.

In the statement, Aneha said her family has always welcomed people from all backgrounds.

“My family and I have always been incredibly accepting of people from all walks of life, regardless of their race, religion, or cultural background.”

She also said that Cam being white or not being Hindu was never an issue for her or her family. The statement ended with a line about cultural pride.

“But I hope people can recognize that cultural pride does not equate to prejudice, and that navigating these conversations does not mean rejecting someone for being different.”

Aneha Addressed Her Comments About Cam’s Appearance

The Vulture interview also covered Aneha’s remarks about how Cam looked when they met for the first time. She said she was trying to be playful and did not mean to sound critical.

“I was just trying to be flirty. I was trying to be cute, if anything, but it did not come off as cute.”

Aneha also spoke about the hotel room conversation that aired in episode seven. She said Cam had been drinking and was in a party mood, which made it hard to have a serious talk.

“He was a little drunkie, and so it’s hard to have serious conversations like that with someone who’s maybe in a party vibe right now. Obviously I didn’t handle that well, because I come off on camera very condescending, and it was condescending. I sounded like I’m talking to a child, and that’s mainly because I knew in that moment we couldn’t really have the serious conversation that we needed, and we had to wait till the next day.”

What Happened at the Wedding

The Love Is Blind season 11 finale aired on Netflix in early November 2026. Aneha and Cam made it to the altar, but Aneha did not say “I do.”

Aneha said in her confessional that Cam was not ready for marriage.

“Cam at 28, just not husband material. He needs more time. He’s not fully cooked yet, right? Cam has the makings of a great husband. I’ve never loved someone like I’ve loved Cam; now that he’s in my life, I can’t imagine my life without him.”

Cam was clearly hurt by the decision. He said he did not want to walk away.

“I don’t want to step away. I love you and care about you, like, why couldn’t we say yes, you know? I think I just need a second to process the experience.”

Aneha told Vulture that saying no at the altar gave her a mix of “disappointment” and “relief.” She said the whole thing did not feel right and she had to trust her gut. She also said she hoped Cam would eventually meet her family.

Cam later said in a confessional that he could not see a reconciliation at that point.

Who Is Aneha Singh?

Aneha is a principal engineer working on rare diseases for a Boston biotech company. She was on the pre-med track as a Boston University undergraduate before taking a job at a local biotech and falling in love with research. She is 28 years old and was raised in a traditional Hindu family. Her parents had an arranged marriage, and she has said she wants to be a “traditional modern woman” in her own marriage.

The Boston-set season of Love Is Blind was the show’s 11th season. Aneha was one of 30 singles who joined the experiment hoping to find a partner.
