BLACKPINK’s Rosé made a heartfelt appearance on BIGBANG’s Daesung talk show, ZIP Daesung, where she spoke candidly about her struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic and her future in the music industry. The episode, released on December 5, 2024, also marked the promotion of her much-anticipated studio album rosie, set to drop on December 6.
Rosé Reflects on Stress and Health Challenges
During the interview, Rosé opened up about how the uncertainty of the pandemic deeply affected her. She revealed that the lockdown occurred when BLACKPINK was at the height of their success, following their Coachella debut and hits like Kill This Love.
“I thought, what if no one looks for BLACKPINK anymore?” Rosé confessed, explaining how the fear of fading relevance pushed her into a spiral of stress. The pressure was so immense that it resulted in her developing shingles, a condition often linked to heightened stress levels.
She shared, “Ever since I was 16, I’ve been training to be a singer. But at my age, I could have ended up jobless,” laughing off how her fears had gotten the best of her back then.
Rosé’s Vision for Her Solo Career
The singer also took the opportunity to discuss her goals as a solo artist. When Daesung asked her about her aspirations, Rosé expressed her desire to create meaningful music that offers comfort and relatability to her listeners.
She explained that her upcoming album, rosie, reflects these values. “It’s the product of my thoughts about how music can truly be a good message,” she said with evident pride and excitement.
What to Expect From Rosé’s Album rosie
The album, set to release on December 6, will include 12 tracks, featuring:
- APT: A pre-release single in collaboration with Bruno Mars that garnered global acclaim.
- Number One Girl: Another fan favorite from the pre-releases.
- Toxic Till The End: The title track, which promises to be an emotional journey.
With her passion shining through, fans can anticipate a deeply personal and heartfelt project.
