Spider-Noir is not the only show making noise this summer. The FX comedy Adults is getting ready for its second season. The show will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 11, 2026, before a wider release on FX and Hulu in August 2026.

Season 1 ended with a surprising kiss between Anton (Owen Thiele) and Paul Baker (Jack Innanen). Paul married Anton to stay in the USA after his visa expired. But Paul is still with Issa. Season 2 will take place two months after those events and explore that messy love triangle.

The Main Cast Is Fully Returning for Season 2

All five main cast members are coming back for Adults Season 2. The show follows a group of twenty-somethings living together in Queens, New York.

Malik Elassal is back as Samir Rahman, the owner of the childhood home where all the friends live. Lucy Freyer returns as Billie Schaeffer, the overachiever of the group who has known Samir since childhood. Jack Innanen reprises his role as Paul Baker, Issa’s partner who got into a complicated marriage situation with Anton. Amita Rao is returning as Issa, the loud and energetic member of the household. Owen Thiele is also back as Anton Evans, the affectionate and guarded friend whose marriage to Paul will cause major drama.

Owen Thiele recently spoke about the new season.

“We’re navigating through that. I think what the writers have done so brilliantly is they’ve kept the love between us all. It feels like a real friend group. When the going gets tough, you still choose your friends.”

He also teased that viewers will see a different side of Anton. “I’m playing with his depth and his vulnerability and showing that to people”.

Two Recurring Actors Will Not Return for Season 2

Not everyone from Season 1 is coming back. Charlie Cox and Rachel Marsh will not reprise their roles as Mr. Teacher and Carly in Season 2.

Cox, known for playing Daredevil in the Marvel series, played a quirky teacher character in Season 1. Marsh played Carly, another recurring face in the friend group. Their absence means the show is moving in a new direction with fresh faces.

Seven New Guest Stars Are Joining Adults Season 2

The guest star lineup for Adults Season 2 is impressive. Teen Vogue exclusively revealed seven actors joining the show in guest roles.

Raven-Symoné, the That’s So Raven star, will play Anton’s older sister. Susie Essman from Curb Your Enthusiasm will appear as the mother of a girl Billie went to school with. The show’s co-creator Rebecca Shaw called Essman an “unbelievably brilliant comedic performer” who “feels so New York”.

Gaten Matarazzo from Stranger Things will play a memorable role. He is playing the kid to whom Samir passed down his fake ID. Co-creator Ben Kronengold teased, “Talk about a role you’ve never seen someone in—he’s really going to blow people’s minds”.

Zosia Mamet from Girls and The Flight Attendant is also joining. So are Ben Marshall from Saturday Night Live, Jake Shane from Wishful Thinking, and Isaac Powell from Modern Love and The Franchise. At least one of them will play a love interest. Shaw said, “We want to see people play romantic interests in ways that would surprise you”.

What to Expect From Adults Season 2

Season 1 of Adults received positive reviews for its honest and funny look at Gen Z life. The show was created by husband-and-wife team Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, who previously wrote for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Nick Kroll serves as an executive producer.

Kronengold explained the theme of Season 2 to Teen Vogue. While Season 1 was about starting to grow up, Season 2 is about “what it means to grow up with four other people strapped to your back”. The eight-episode season will ask the characters how they “bicker and get through problems without losing track of why you love each other”.
