Tamil cinema superstar Ajith Kumar, known for his dual career as an actor and professional race car driver, escaped unhurt after a serious car crash during a high-speed endurance race in Europe. The incident happened while he was competing in an international racing event, but he walked away without any injuries.
The crash took place during a high-speed endurance race where Ajith was competing in the LMP3 Pro/Am category for his team, Ajith RedAnt by Virage. According to reports, his car lost control at high speed and collided with another vehicle on the track. The accident happened at Turn 11. Despite the heavy impact, the actor managed to get out of the car safely and did not suffer any major injuries.
Car Loses Control and Collides During the Race
Ajith was taking part in endurance championships that include the Asian Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup. During the race, his car suddenly went out of control and hit another vehicle on the track. The racing teams also faced technical problems, including issues with the wheels, which made the competition even more difficult.
Several videos of the crash went viral on social media, leaving his fans worried. However, reports confirm that Ajith is completely safe and did not sustain any serious harm. His experience in professional racing and the safety systems in his car helped him escape safely.
Not the First Close Call on the Racetrack
This is not the first time Ajith Kumar has been involved in a crash during a race. In 2025, his racing car crashed during the GT4 European Series in Italy, but he walked away unhurt. Earlier that same year, he survived a dramatic double-rollover accident during the Porsche Sprint Challenge in Valencia, Spain. He also escaped unharmed after his Porsche crashed during a practice session for the 24H Dubai endurance race.
Ajith has been competing in international motorsport for many years. He is one of the few Indian drivers to race on the global circuit. He participated in the 2003 Formula Asia BMW Championships and has also competed in events like the Creventic 24H Series and the GT4 European Series.
Ajith’s Mindset After Accidents
Last year, Ajith spoke to The Hollywood Reporter India about what goes through his mind after a crash. He shared his honest thoughts on dealing with such dangerous situations.
“When I crash, I try to understand if I have been hurt. That’s my immediate response. How bad am I hurt, how bad the car is, and if I can restart. Once you make sure you are okay and the car is okay, your adrenaline kicks in. The only thought is not wanting a DNF. I just think, ‘I want to finish (the race) today.’ You are worried for your family. It’s not fair on our part to be putting them through so much stress. Unfortunately, I have had some terrible crashes, but so have other drivers. It’s just that I am an actor, so it makes headlines.”
His words show his calm and professional approach to racing, even in the face of danger. He also mentioned that he has undergone 29 surgeries during his film career, but he chooses to learn from every experience rather than complain.
Fans React With Relief on Social Media
News of the crash spread quickly, and fans took to social media to express their concern. Many shared messages of relief after learning that Ajith was safe. His fans, who closely follow his international racing journey, felt a huge sense of relief with the update.
Ajith’s passion for motorsport goes far beyond a casual hobby. He has actively pursued competitive racing for decades, from national events like the MRF Racing series to international competitions in Formula 2 and Formula BMW Asia. In 2015, he made a comeback to racing after a break and continues to compete at the highest level.
