The latest episode of Boston Blue brought back a familiar face and turned one characterโ€™s world upside down. Episode 17, titled โ€œLโ€™Dor Vador,โ€ aired on CBS on May 1, 2026. The hour delivered a tense race against time to find a missing child. It also gave fans of the Blue Bloods universe a long-awaited reunion.

Donnie Wahlberg led the episode as Danny Reagan, but he did not work alone this time. His sister, Erin Reagan, made her return to the spin-off to help with a dangerous case involving a serial killer. While Danny dealt with the criminal, his partner Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green) found out a shocking secret about her own family.

Bridget Moynahan Returns as Erin Reagan in a Tense Rescue Mission

The biggest news coming out of Episode 17 was the return of Bridget Moynahan as Assistant District Attorney Erin Reagan. She previously appeared in the series pilot but had been absent until now.

In this episode, a notorious serial killer who shares a history with Erin is brought to Boston. After he hints at the location of a missing young girl, Erin is called in to help. The brother-sister duo had to put their differences aside to save the child before it was too late.

The episode showed how Erin still tries to take care of her stubborn brother, just like she did in Blue Bloods. Their partnership brought back the classic Reagan family energy that viewers loved from the original show. The episode ended with the siblings heading to New York for a traditional Sunday dinner with the family.

Lena Silver Learns the Truth About Her Biological Father

While Danny worked the serial killer case, Detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green) faced a personal crisis. The episode revealed major news about her family tree.

Lena found out that Reverend Edwin Peters (Ernie Hudson) is not her biological grandfather. The truth came to light after Reverend Peters was wheeled into surgery for a serious health scare. Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben) told Lena that her real father is a man named Chris Williams.

โ€œMae revealed that Lenaโ€™s father is a former robber named Chris William, who now works as a small-town police chief just outside of Boston.โ€

The situation became even more complicated when Chris showed up at the familyโ€™s doorstep. He revealed that he knew about Lena all along and has been watching over her like a father from a distance. This revelation sets the stage for a possible father-daughter meeting in future episodes.
