BTS and TXT fans had a big surprise in Resident Playbook episode 9. The show, a spin-off of Hospital Playlist, included a fun BTS mention and a special appearance by TXT’s Yeonjun and Soobin as fictional idols. The episode aired on May 10, 2025, and fans quickly shared their excitement online.
The BTS reference came during a casual conversation between characters. Kang You Seok, who plays a former idol turned doctor, said, “And starting from today, she is my role model. Second only in admiration to my colleagues BTS.” The line was short but made fans happy.
The bigger surprise was Yeonjun and Soobin’s cameo as members of HI-BOYZ, a fictional idol group. In the episode, Kang You Seok’s character Um Jae Il sings their song When the Day Comes at a karaoke bar. Behind him, a music video plays showing Yeonjun and Soobin dancing as his former bandmates.
Though only Yeonjun and Soobin appeared on screen, all five TXT members recorded the song. The full track will be released as part of the Resident Playbook OST on May 11 at 6 p.m. KST. Fans praised the song for its fun and nostalgic feel.
The episode also teased a full HI-BOYZ performance video, set to release on May 12 at 12 p.m. KST. The preview showed high-quality choreography and visuals, making the fictional group look like real idols. Many viewers said the performance looked like an actual K-pop debut.
“That’s fire! Can’t wait to see Soobin & Yeonjun on screen!” wrote one fan on social media. Another added, “I’m definitely tuning in for this one!” The excitement spread quickly as fans shared clips and reactions online.
