The music streaming world has gone through a quiet but major cleanup. Several popular songs featuring singer D4vd have disappeared from Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms. This comes after the 21-year-old artist, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was formally charged with first-degree murder for the death of a 14-year-old girl.
D4vd, known for viral hits like “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me,” was arrested on April 16, 2026. He is currently in a Los Angeles jail without bail. The removal of his music is part of a larger wave of consequences hitting the young star.
Trigger Warning: This article contains details about sensitive legal matters involving violence and a minor.
Fellow Artists Remove Tracks Immediately
Artists who previously worked with D4vd are now distancing themselves. They are removing joint tracks from their catalogs to separate their work from the serious legal case.
Kali Uchis was one of the first to act. Her song “Crashing,” which featured D4vd, is no longer available. Uchis had actually tried to remove this track back in September 2025, shortly after police discovered the remains of Celeste Rivas Hernandez in a Tesla registered to the singer. At that time, she told a fan on social media:
“Not my friend i did a song with him which is currently in the process of being taken down given todayโs disturbing news.”
Damiano David, the lead singer of Mรฅneskin, took a different approach. He had a song called “Tangerine” with D4vd on his album. Instead of just deleting the track, Damiano replaced it with a solo version. The original duet is gone, and now only Damianoโs voice remains on the record.
Laufey and Holly Humberstone have also removed their collaborations. Laufeyโs song “This Is How It Feels” and Humberstoneโs track “Superbloodmoon” are both no longer on streaming services.
As of April 24, 2026, the only major collaboration still publicly available appears to be a track with The Kid Laroi titled “The Line,” though that could change as the legal situation develops.
Why Were the Songs Removed?
The removals are not random. Streaming platforms and record labels typically take action when an artist is charged with violent crimes, especially those involving minors.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced the charges on April 20. D4vd faces first-degree murder with special circumstances. Prosecutors allege he killed Celeste Rivas Hernandez to protect his rising music career after she threatened to expose his behavior involving alleged inappropriate acts with a minor. The DA stated:
“When she threatened to expose his criminal conduct and devastate his musical career, Burke allegedly murdered her, cut up her body and stuffed her body in two bags that were placed in the front trunk of his car.”
Besides murder, D4vd faces charges including lewd acts with a minor under 14 and mutilating a human body. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. His lawyers say they will “vigorously defend” his innocence.

D4vd’s Career Was Already Crashing Before the Arrest
This did not happen overnight. D4vdโs professional life started falling apart in September 2025, when the news first broke about the body being found in his car.
His record label, Darkroom/Interscope, quietly dropped him last year. He was also removed from major marketing campaigns with brands like Crocs and Hollister. His song “What Are You Waiting For” was reportedly taken off the soundtrack for the video game Madden NFL 26. Even figure skating champion Alysa Liu dropped the Laufey and D4vd collaboration from her competition routine.
After his recent arrest, more partners pulled away. The speed at which the music industry has erased his presence shows how serious the charges are. A preliminary hearing is currently underway in Los Angeles to determine if there is enough evidence for a trial.
