Fans around the world are sending well wishes to former T-ara member Ahreum after news broke of her attempted suicide on March 27th.
Ahreum’s boyfriend took to his social media shortly after the news became public, revealing that she remains unconscious but is receiving advanced medical care. He expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans but urged for patience and understanding, requesting that fans avoid overwhelming them with unnecessary inquiries.
In an Instagram story, Ahreum’s boyfriend posted, “Thank you to Ahreum’s fans and those related to her who are reaching out with your concern and support. Please do not make any unnecessary or weird requests of me. Please be appropriate. A person is in pain and unconscious… Please refrain. I beg of you. I pray Ahreum will be okay.”
Ahreum, who was a member of T-ara from 2012 to 2013, has been open about her struggles in recent years. In 2019, she married a businessman and became a mother of two sons. However, in December 2023, she bravely spoke out about the abuse she endured in her marriage, sharing photos of injuries and detailing her ex-husband’s mistreatment of her and their children.
Following her divorce, Ahreum found solace in a new relationship with a film writer and expressed a desire to remarry once the legalities were finalized. This news brought relief to fans who were happy to see her find happiness.
She later shocked her by revealing on social media that her husband had not only assaulted her but also abused her children throughout their marriage. On the 25th, after posting a mosaic photo of her face and part of her body full of scars, she said, “This was taken right after I was assaulted by my husband in November 2021. This was taken right after I ran away to my parents’ house on the day I was mercilessly beaten by that person in front of my child.” “Photo,” he wrote. She claimed that “her plain dress at the time was torn, there were bruises here and there that you couldn’t see, and her nose was bent.”
According to entertainment media outlet OSEN, Ahreum attempted an extreme decision early in the morning and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The reason behind her drastic action remains unknown, but speculation points to “stress and pressure due to divorce proceedings with her ex-husband and money extortion through cell phone hacking.”
