Go Kyung Pyo may reunite with Park Shin Hye in the upcoming tvN drama Miss Undercover Boss. Reports suggest he is in talks to play her boss in this retro office comedy set during South Korea’s 1997 financial crisis.
Park Shin Hye was already confirmed for the lead role in March 2025. She will play Hong Geum-bo, a 35-year-old elite financial investigator who goes undercover as a 20-year-old rookie employee at a securities firm.
Go Kyung Pyo is reportedly considering the role of Shin Jung-woo, the new CEO of Hanmin Securities. His character is described as a corporate raider with dark ambitions, returning to Yeouido with a mysterious agenda.
The drama will mix comedy, suspense, and romance as the two leads clash in their professional and personal lives. Hong Geum-bo’s undercover mission complicates when she gets entangled with Shin Jung-woo, leading to unexpected dynamics.
“Go Kyung Pyo will be the main character of the drama Miss Undercover Boss,” an industry insider told Sports Chosun. However, his agency has not yet confirmed his casting.
If he accepts, this will be his first major drama since Frankly Speaking (2024). Fans are excited about his potential reunion with Park Shin Hye after their 2013 drama Flower Boy Next Door.
“13 years later, they’re reunited. And this time, #GoKyungpyo is #ParkShinHye’s leading man,” wrote one fan on social media. Another added, “Flower Boy Next Door reunion! It will be a blast for sure!”
Park Shin Hye’s character will have a dual role—both a tough financial regulator and a clueless office newbie. Her recent performance in The Judge from Hell earned praise, raising expectations for this project.
The drama will be directed by Park Seon-ho, known for Business Proposal and Suspicious Partner. The script will be written by Moon Hyun-kyung, who worked on Into the Ring.
Set in the late 1990s, Miss Undercover Boss explores corporate corruption during South Korea’s IMF crisis. The story balances humor with high-stakes financial crime investigations.
Park Shin Hye’s character infiltrates the firm to uncover illegal activities. However, her disguise as a young employee leads to comedic challenges, including office politics and unexpected friendships.
Go Kyung Pyo’s character, Shin Jung-woo, is cold and ambitious. His arrival shakes the company just as Hong Geum-bo starts her investigation, setting up a tense yet entertaining rivalry.
The drama is expected to have 16 episodes and will air on tvN in the first half of 2026. Fans are eagerly awaiting official confirmation from both actors’ agencies.
