The popular South Korean actor couple is ready to welcome another baby into their family. Park Shin Hye and Choi Tae Joon shared the happy news on April 14, 2026. This will be their second child, four years after they became parents to a baby boy in May 2022.

The news first came out through a South Korean media report. Right after, Park Shin Hye‘s agency, SALT Entertainment, officially confirmed the pregnancy to the public. The agency also shared details about when the baby is expected to arrive.

Agency Confirms Pregnancy and Fall Due Date

SALT Entertainment released a short and clear statement about the actress. The agency shared that Park Shin Hye is currently pregnant. They also mentioned that the baby is due to be born in the fall season of 2026. The agency ended the statement by asking everyone to send their warm wishes to the couple.

Following the confirmation, the agency also added that the actress has moved past the early stage of her pregnancy. She now plans to focus on her health and take proper rest. The agency said she will take a short break from her entertainment activities to care for herself and the baby.

Choi Tae Joon‘s agency, Blitzway Entertainment, also shared the same news. Both agencies confirmed the details together, making the announcement official from both sides.

The Couple’s Love Story and First Child

Park Shin Hye and Choi Tae Joon first met as students at Chung-Ang University. They both studied Theater and Film at the same school. The two were friends at first, and their friendship later turned into love in late 2017.

The couple kept their relationship private for some months. Then in March 2018, both agencies confirmed that the two actors were dating. They continued their relationship away from the public eye for several years.

In November 2021, the couple made two big announcements together. They told the world that they were planning to get married. At the same time, they shared that Park Shin Hye was pregnant with their first child.

The wedding took place on January 22, 2022. The ceremony was held at a church in Seoul, with only close family and friends attending. Many celebrity guests were present at the wedding, including FTISLAND’s Lee Hong Ki, Crush, EXO’s D.O. , and Lee Juck, who sang congratulatory songs for the couple.

Just a few months after the wedding, in May 2022, the couple welcomed their first son. Now, four years after becoming parents, they are ready to grow their family once again.

Park Shin Hye’s Recent Work and Career

Park Shin Hye has stayed very busy with her acting career even after marriage and becoming a mother. She made a strong return to the small screen with the JTBC drama Doctor Slump in 2024. The show was a big success and showed that the actress still had a strong pull with viewers.

After that, she starred in the SBS drama The Judge from Hell, which also did very well in ratings. Her most recent project was the tvN drama Undercover Miss Hong, which finished airing in March 2026. The show was an office comedy where she played Hong Geum Bo, a 35-year-old financial officer who goes undercover as a 20-year-old rookie. The drama reached a peak viewership rating of 13.1 percent. This made it the second-highest-rated tvN drama during its broadcast period.

Park Shin Hye started her career as a child actress. She debuted in 2003 through the music video for Lee Seung Hwan‘s song “Flower.” Her first major acting role came in the same year when she played the younger version of Choi Ji Woo‘s character in the famous drama Stairway to Heaven. Since then, she has starred in many hit shows such as You’re Beautiful, The Heirs, Pinocchio, Doctors, and Memories of the Alhambra. She has also acted in popular movies like Miracle in Cell No. 7, #Alive, and The Call.

Choi Tae Joon’s Acting Career

Choi Tae Joon also continues to work steadily as an actor. He made his debut in 2001 with the drama Piano. Over the years, he has appeared in many television shows. Some of his well-known works include Missing 9, Suspicious Partner, The Undateables, and So I Married The Anti-Fan. His most recent drama was Iron Family, which aired in 2025.

The couple has also worked together once. They both appeared in the 2012 drama The King of Dramas early in their careers, long before they started dating.

What Fans Are Saying

Fans all over the world have sent their good wishes to the couple. Many took to social media to share their happiness about the news.

One fan wrote on Twitter, “Ahhh, so Park Shin-hye is preparing for another little bundle of joy. Soon-to-be mom of two! The family is growing, and so is the love. Wishing her a healthy pregnancy.”

Another fan commented, “OMG Congratulations. I still can’t believe it at all that we’re at the stage where Park Shin-hye already has a kid and now she’s pregnant with her second.”

A third fan added, “Aaaa congrats queen park. Baby Choi number two coming.”

Some fans also expressed confusion about the actress not receiving a nomination for the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards. The nominee list came out just one day before the pregnancy news. Park Shin Hye was not included in the Best Actress category for her work in Undercover Miss Hong. Many viewers said they did not understand why she was left out, given the show’s success. However, the pregnancy announcement has now become the main topic of discussion among fans.
