What Happened in Episode 8
The previous episode, titled “Crisantemo y durazno” (Chrysanthemum and Peach), delivered intense action . The episode focused on the backstory of the master swordsman Gantetsusai, who dreamed of being the greatest. He fought against the Tensen Tao Fa alongside the Yamada Asaemon executor Fuchi.
Fuchi used his immortal body to interrupt Tao Fa’s regeneration, allowing Gantetsusai to land a perfect cut that split Tao Fa in two . However, the victory was short-lived. The other Tensen, Ju Fa, abandoned his own fight against the Aza brothers to rescue Tao Fa. The two Tensen merged into a single, monstrous being to continue their fight against the humans .
What to Expect in Episode 9
The official synopsis for Episode 9, “Compassion and Work,” confirms a shift in the battlefield . After Ju Fa and Tao Fa performed the Kishikai and merged, Aza Chobei, Gantetsusai, and the others are forced to join forces to combat this new, powerful enemy .
The episode will also follow Sagiri and the child Mei. They finally arrive at the Rendan Palace, hoping to find the elixir of life. However, they do not find the Tensen leader Rien waiting for them. Instead, they are confronted by another Tensen named Gui Fa . It is from Gui Fa that they will learn the shocking and ambitious plan of the celestial immortals for the island . This sets the stage for major story revelations.
