In the same episode, Samay asked Badshah about the story behind his stage name. Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh, revealed that he came up with the name ‘Badshah’ himself.
Samay quickly responded, “Pakka? Maine toh kuch aur story suni thi” (Are you sure? I had heard a different story). Badshah dismissed it, saying, “Galat story suni” (You heard the wrong story).
The Resurfaced Old Clip
Soon after the episode aired, social media users dug up an older clip featuring the two rappers. In that footage, Badshah had credited Honey Singh with coming up with the stage name.
In the old interview, Badshah explained, “Honey told me, ‘You live like a Badshah.’ He said I use my phone whenever I want and get up whenever I feel like. So that’s how Badshah was decided”.
The apparent contradiction between Badshah’s recent claim and his earlier admission quickly went viral.

The history between Honey Singh and Badshah goes back more than 15 years. Both artists were once members of the hip-hop collective Mafia Mundeer, which also included Raftaar, Ikka, and Lil Golu.
The group delivered several hit tracks, including Khol Botal, Begani Naar Buri, and Delhi Ke Deewane. However, their professional collaboration came to an end at some point, and the two have since been involved in multiple disputes.
