The ENA Monday-Tuesday drama “Dream to You” (also known as “Dreaming of You”) has been generating conversation around its lead actors Hwang In-Yeop and Lee Hye-Ri, particularly for their on-screen romantic moments. The series, which premiered on July 13, 2026, follows the reunion of genius film director Woo Soo-Bin (Hwang In-Yeop) and reporter Joo Yi-Jae (Lee Hye-Ri), who reconnect after 15 years.
The drama, written by Jung Eun-bi and directed by Yoo Sun-dong, airs weekly on ENA and is also available on streaming platforms including Genie TV and Tving. It features a supporting cast including Baek Sung-chul, Lee Yul-eum, and Lee Sang-yeop.
First Kiss in the Rain
The fourth episode, broadcast on July 21, featured the first kiss between the lead characters. The scene took place in the rain, with Woo Soo-Bin following Joo Yi-Jae outside with an umbrella.
Prior to the kiss, the characters had been collaborating on a film script together. Joo Yi-Jae had been hesitant to accept Woo Soo-Bin’s proposal to make a movie together, but his warm encouragement changed her mind. While working on the screenplay, their hearts raced as they discussed the emotional lines of the film’s protagonists. The scene ended with the two sharing their first kiss.
Episode 7: Confirming Their Feelings
A more recent kiss scene aired in episode 7 on August 3. In this episode, the characters finally acknowledged that their feelings for each other had remained unchanged for 15 years. The scene showed Woo Soo-Bin and Joo Yi-Jae sharing a deep kiss after confirming their mutual feelings.
The episode depicted Woo Soo-Bin stepping back to support Joo Yi-Jae’s dreams, but finding it difficult to control his growing feelings. Joo Yi-Jae’s feelings for him also deepened. After learning about Woo Soo-Bin’s sincere efforts to protect her, Joo Yi-Jae decided to move forward with him.
According to reports, the actors themselves joked about the number of kiss scenes in the drama, even suggesting renaming it “Kiss to You” instead of “Dream to You” because nearly every episode features a kissing scene.
Viewer Response and Ratings
Despite the romantic developments, the drama’s ratings have remained modest. According to Nielsen Korea data, the series has been averaging around 2% viewership. Episode 7, which featured the confirmation kiss, recorded a rating of 2.0%. This represents a slight decrease from the previous episode’s rating of 2.9%.
However, some online communities have noted that romance dramas typically face competition from thriller and action genres in the ratings race. The drama has maintained a steady audience base across its episodes.
The production team has described the relationship between Woo Soo-Bin and Joo Yi-Jae as a “mutual salvation narrative,” with the characters gradually becoming “healers” for one another.
