HYBE has recently addressed growing tensions within the BTS fandom regarding calls for Suga‘s removal from the group following his DUI incident.
The controversy has sparked a significant divide among fans: some demand Suga’s departure, while others urge the fandom to unite in support of the group.
According to reports from YTN, HYBE has stepped in and dismissed the notion of Suga leaving BTS.
The company emphasized that such discussions are unfounded and reiterated their commitment to maintaining the group as it is. To address the ongoing discord among fans, HYBE stated that they plan to apologize and make concerted efforts to mend the rift within the fandom.
Talk of Suga leaving BTS is nonsense. We will apologize and work harder to resolve the conflict among fans.
— HYBE
The fan conflict reached its climax when fans started posting and trending hashtags on social media asking for Suga’s withdrawal. A group of fans even sent wreaths in front of the HYBE building, holding similar messages.
In response, other fans have voiced strong opposition to these demands, sharing supportive messages and images to express their solidarity with all seven members of BTS.
Given the high expectations for BTS’s anticipated full-group comeback next year, HYBE’s statement aims to calm tensions and reassure fans that they are taking steps to address the situation. However, it remains to be seen how the fandom will respond in the coming months.
