The hit show Marshals has fans talking, and the main reason is the growing connection between Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) and Belle (Arielle Kebbel). Episode 7, called Family Business, aired on April 12, and it had a moment no one saw coming. The two characters shared a kiss, and now everyone wants to know if this is the start of something real.

Marshall-Green recently sat down for an interview and gave fans a clear answer about where this story is heading. He also talked about working with Kebbel and what viewers can expect before the season ends.

The Surprise Kiss That Changed Everything

For those watching Marshals, the bond between Cal and Belle has been building for weeks. Cal leads the Montana U.S. Marshals unit. He is an ex-Navy SEAL with a difficult past. Belle works on his team and used to be an undercover agent for the ATF.

The kiss did not come out of nowhere. Before it happened, Cal saw Belle’s husband, Jared, with another woman. Cal thought Jared was cheating, so he told Belle the truth. But Belle then explained that she and Jared have an open marriage. The conversation got emotional, and that is when the kiss happened.

Right after, both characters called it a bad idea. Cal blamed his actions on drinking. But the moment was already out there, and fans started asking if the show is setting up a real romance.

Logan Marshall-Green Confirms the Story Will Continue

Logan Marshall-Green spoke with People at CBS Fest 2026 on April 15. He did not hold back when asked about the kiss and what comes next.

“I thought the scene played really well in the script. It felt earned in a way, and it’s gonna continue to be something we earn throughout the season.”

He also shared his thoughts on working with Arielle Kebbel. The two actors clearly have a strong working relationship.

“I love working with Arielle.”

Marshall-Green added that their characters will get very close in more ways than one.

“Become very intimate — but not just physically, in other ways too.”

This suggests that the show will keep exploring the emotional side of Cal and Belle’s relationship, not just the physical attraction.

Arielle Kebbel Talks About the Show’s Success

While Arielle Kebbel has not spoken directly about the kiss yet, she did open up about how Marshals has changed her career. She told People that this level of attention is new for her.

“The truth is, in my entire career, this is the first time that I’m experiencing this kind of response. I think I’m digesting it in real time and it has yet to fully sink in. In most of my career, I’m used to working really hard and not really knowing what big success feels like.”

Her words show just how big Marshals has become. The show is not just another TV drama. It is a cultural moment.

More Drama for Cal Outside of Romance

The kiss with Belle is not the only thing happening with Cal right now. Episode 4 revealed that Cal has a daughter named Maddie. She works as a bartender at a local spot. Cal has been watching her from across the bar for weeks. His team thought he had a crush on her. But the truth is much sadder.

Cal and Maddie have not spoken in over 20 years. He took the job in Montana just to be near her. But she does not want him in her life. This backstory adds a lot of weight to Cal’s character. He is not just a tough team leader. He is a father trying to fix a broken relationship.

On top of that, Cal is also dealing with a possible health issue. The show has not revealed all the details yet. But in a recent episode, viewers saw Cal taking pills alone in the locker room. Something is wrong, and it looks like the show will address it soon.

The Show Is a Massive Hit With a Second Season Coming

Marshals premiered on March 1. It did not take long for CBS to realize they had a winner. The network renewed the show for a second season after only two episodes had aired. That is very rare.

The first episode pulled in 9.52 million viewers on live TV. When streaming numbers came in, that number jumped to 20.6 million viewers in just seven days. Those are huge numbers for any show, especially a new one.

CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach talked about why the show got renewed so fast.

“Marshals delivered a breakout performance, capturing a massive audience across platforms and quickly establishing itself as one of TV’s most powerful new series.”

Season 1 Will End on a Cliffhanger

Logan Marshall-Green also shared some news about how the first season will end. He told People that fans should get ready for a big finish.

“We end this season on a cliffhanger. And I’m looking forward to picking up those stakes again very, very quickly, when we get back to shooting season 2 in just a few weeks.”

Season 1 has a total of 13 episodes. As of now, 8 episodes have been released. That means there are still several weeks of new content left before the finale. If Marshall-Green is right, the last episode will leave viewers with a lot of questions.
