The first season of the revamped Love Island UK aired back in 2015 and introduced viewers to a new kind of reality dating show. Set in a villa in Mallorca, the show brought together singles who had to couple up to stay in the competition. The goal was simple: find love and win the public’s vote to be named the winning couple.
More than ten years have passed since that summer. Fans often wonder what happened to the couples from that first season. Did any of them stay together? The short answer is no. None of the couples from Love Island UK Season 1 are still together today. Every relationship that formed in that villa eventually ended.

Jessica Hayes and Max Morley: The Winners Who Split Quickly
Jessica Hayes and Max Morley were crowned the winners of the first season. Max entered the villa on day 14 and quickly formed a strong connection with Jess. Their chemistry was clear, and they managed to win over the public.
The couple decided to split the £50,000 prize money evenly, choosing “love” over taking all the cash. But their relationship did not survive life outside the villa. They broke up just six weeks after leaving the show.
Jess Hayes moved on and got engaged to mechanic Dan Lawry in 2018. They welcomed a son named Presley in June 2019. Sadly, Jess suffered a miscarriage in 2021 and again in 2023. She and Dan split up in 2022. Jess later got engaged to property developer Zebensui Clay-Miranda, but they also split in February 2025. In June 2025, Jess revealed she had taken a vow of celibacy after repeated heartbreak. She is now a fashion and makeup artist and works as an ambassador for Saying Goodbye, a charity supporting those affected by baby loss.
Max Morley went on to appear on Ex on the Beach. He had relationships with several reality stars, including Charlotte Crosby, Zara Holland, and Laura Anderson. Max returned to his cricket roots and works as a recruitment consultant. He welcomed a son named Brooklyn in November 2021 but has kept the identity of the mother private.
Hannah Elizabeth and Jon Clark: The Engaged Runners-Up
Hannah Elizabeth and Jon Clark were the runners-up of the first season. They coupled up on day one and seemed inseparable throughout the show. Jon even proposed to Hannah during the season finale.
But their engagement did not last. They split shortly after leaving the villa. Hannah later said she saw “such a big change in him since we left the villa”.
Hannah Elizabeth moved on with George Andretti and became pregnant with their son Reggie, who was born in 2019. She and George split before Reggie was born. Hannah continues to model and runs crystal healing classes. She appeared on Love Island: All Stars in 2024. In May 2025, she was rushed to the hospital for surgery.
Jon Clark joined the cast of The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) after Love Island. He briefly dated Love Island 2017 star Chloe Crowhurst.
Joshua Ritchie and Lauren Richardson: The Third-Place Couple
Joshua Ritchie and Lauren Richardson finished in third place. Josh entered the villa on day one, and Lauren entered on day two. They coupled up and stayed together until the final.
Their relationship did not last after the show. They parted ways as friends.
Joshua Ritchie later appeared on Love Island: All Stars in 2024. He was coupled with Sophie Piper on that season, and they are still together.
Lauren Richardson sparked a social media storm when she was first cast, having been previously spotted with One Direction’s Zayn Malik.
Cally Jane Beech and Luis Morrison: The Fourth-Place Couple
Cally Jane Beech entered the villa late on day 21 and coupled up with Luis Morrison. They finished in fourth place. Interestingly, they had dated before the show.
Their relationship lasted longer than most. They stayed together for three years and welcomed a daughter named Vienna in 2017. But they split in 2018.
Cally Jane Beech has spoken publicly about being a victim of deepfake pornography. She has been campaigning to criminalise the creation of such content.
Luis Morrison returned for Love Island: All Stars in 2024. He was coupled with Georgia Harrison on that season. He also had a brief relationship with fellow Islander Demi Jones, but they split in March 2024.
Other Couples From Season 1
Several other couples formed during the season but did not last.
Danielle Pyne and Chris Baxter coupled up in the final week. Danielle later admitted she had stronger feelings for Luis than Chris, which ended their short romance.
Chris Williamson and Zoe Basia Brown coupled up in the third week. Zoe later recoupled with Jordan, leading to Chris being dumped from the show.
Jordan Ring and Zoe Basia Brown also had a brief relationship.
