The Las Vegas wedding trip turns into a major family meltdown. Margo’s Got Money Troubles Episode 5 shows that a simple wedding celebration can quickly become the breaking point for everyone involved. What starts as a fun road trip to see Shyanne (Michelle Pfeiffer) marry Kenny (Greg Kinnear) becomes a test of loyalty, past regrets, and painful honesty.
The episode, titled “Flamingoes,” dropped April 29, 2026, on Apple TV+. It follows the chaotic family trip where Margo (Elle Fanning) finally tells her mother the truth about how she is really making money. The result is an emotional explosion that leaves their relationship damaged and uncertain.
Road Trip to Vegas Brings Old Wounds and Awkward Room Arrangements
The episode opens with Shyanne’s bridal shower, where women from her new church give her gifts that are more funny than fancy. She smiles and acts grateful, but the tension is already building. Shyanne wants a wedding without baby duties, so she asks Jinx (Nick Offerman) , her ex-husband and Margo’s father, to come along as a babysitter or “manny” for baby Bodhi.
The drive to Las Vegas shows the split in this family. Margo and Shyanne ride together in a convertible, singing loudly to Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven Is a Place on Earth.” They look like two best friends on a girls’ trip. Meanwhile, Jinx follows behind in a regular car with Bodhi, listening to podcasts about Roman history. The contrast sets the tone for the whole episode.
When they get to Vegas, the first problem appears immediately. Kenny books two hotel rooms, but both are for him and Shyanne. They do not want to share a room before the wedding night. This means Margo and Jinx have to pay for their own stay. For a show called “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” this hits hard. Margo later takes money from her OnlyFans account to cover her share so she can still enjoy the trip.

Magic Show Disaster and Tie Shopping Bond Between Margo and Kenny
The group goes to a matinee magic show, and things go wrong quickly. The magician calls Kenny and Shyanne on stage for a trick. The jokes turn dirty, and the magician pulls out what looks like a pair of lacy underwear. Kenny feels humiliated. He thinks Shyanne was treated badly, and the joke about him wearing women’s underwear makes him even angrier.

To make things worse, Kenny realizes he forgot his wedding tie. He tries to pull Shyanne away from her manicure appointment to help him shop. Margo steps in to save the day and offers to go with him instead.
The shopping trip becomes a surprising moment of connection. Kenny opens up to Margo about his life. He spent years taking care of his parents and working for the church. He never made choices for himself. Then he walked into a Bloomingdale’s store, met Shyanne, and suddenly saw a future he thought he had missed. Margo starts to understand that Kenny truly loves her mother, even if he is awkward and sometimes clueless.
Kenny tells Margo he wants to be a father figure to her. But Margo already has Jinx, messy as their relationship is. Kenny wants to do the right thing, but he does not fully understand this damaged family he is marrying into.
Shyanne’s Wild Bachelorette Night Leads to Margo’s Big Confession
After Kenny goes to sleep, Shyanne decides she needs a real bachelorette party. She drags Margo and Jinx out for a night on the town. She even suggests hiding baby Bodhi under Margo’s coat to sneak him into a bar. The scene is funny and irresponsible, but the mood shifts when Margo watches her parents flirt over a pool table.

Jinx and Shyanne still have chemistry. Their history is not dead, just buried. Margo even learns she was likely conceived in that bar’s bathroom. Jinx admits he messed up by leaving Shyanne. He knows he cannot be the steady partner she needs, but watching her marry someone else still hurts.
Later, after drinking, dancing, and eating wings, Margo gives her mother wedding gifts: something old, something blue, something borrowed, and something new. The new gift is expensive enough that Shyanne asks how she paid for it. Margo finally admits she is working on OnlyFans.
Shyanne reacts with shock and horror. She does not see it as work. She sees it as something degrading that will ruin Margo’s life forever. The fight that follows cuts deep.
“My daughter the wh*re,” Shyanne says, according to episode recaps.
Margo tries to explain. She is not having s*x with anyone. She is building a brand and making money to support her son. But Shyanne refuses to accept the difference. She worked at Hooters and knows how the world judges women. She fears Margo will end up just like her: a single mother viewed as trash by society.
Margo fires back with an even more painful accusation. She tells Shyanne that she was never really a mother. Shyanne treated Margo like a best friend because she had no real friends of her own. The words hang in the air, and the two women part ways for the night, both wounded.
Shyanne Still Marries Kenny While Margo and Jinx Leave Early
The wedding happens the next day. Shyanne walks down the aisle singing an Elvis song, something she was not excited about earlier. As she sings, something changes. She looks at Kenny and understands what he is offering.
Kenny may not be exciting like Jinx. He may order the wrong food or sulk after a bad magic trick. But he loves her with a steadiness Jinx has never been able to provide. Jinx has heat and history, but history cannot raise a family or show up every morning. Kenny can. Shyanne chooses the man who is present instead of the man who might have been.
Margo and Jinx leave Vegas early that same night. Jinx cries because watching Shyanne marry someone else forces him to face what he lost. He knows he cannot be the dependable partner she needs, but knowing that does not make the loss hurt less.
Margo drives away with her own pain. Her fight with Shyanne is not resolved. Her mother still sees her work as shameful, while Margo sees it as survival with creativity attached. Neither woman is fully wrong, but both said things that leave permanent marks.
