Marriagetoxin fans have a long wait ahead, but the payoff promises to be worth it. Bandai Namco Filmworks has confirmed that Season 2 will premiere in January 2027, and a brand-new main visual plus a reveal video are already giving a clear picture of what’s coming. The new artwork brings back the show’s lead duo—poison assassin Hikaru Gero and marriage swindler Mei Kinosaki—and places them on the very bridge where their strange partnership began in the first episode of Season 1. Gero is shown gripping his signature poison syringe, while Kinosaki stands beside him holding a bouquet, a visual that captures the odd but effective chemistry between an assassin and a con artist.
What the New Main Visual Shows
The main visual released by the official Marriagetoxin team places Gero and Kinosaki behind bright yellow “keep out” crime scene tape, with the tagline “Control love with poison”. The image leans into the show’s mix of danger and dark humor, with the crime scene tape acting as more than just decoration—it suggests the chaotic, rule-breaking nature of their mission. The bridge setting is a direct callback to the moment Gero saved Kinosaki in the very first episode, and the bouquet Kinosaki carries hints that their search for a bride is far from over.
The visual also includes small icons that hint at characters set to appear in Season 2, though the production team has not yet revealed exactly who those characters are.
Reveal Video Recaps Gero’s Season 1 Journey
Alongside the main visual, Bandai Namco Filmworks released a Season 2 reveal video that looks back at Gero’s entire bride hunt from Season 1. The promotional video recaps his encounters with the various Masters he faced along the way and ends by teasing what lies ahead. The video serves as a reminder that Marriagetoxin is not just about a man looking for a wife—it’s about the intense action, comedy, and surprisingly emotional character moments that made the first season stand out.
Director Motonobu Hori on the Show’s Tone and Season 2 Plans
Director Motonobu Hori has shared detailed thoughts on the challenges of adapting the manga and what fans can expect next. He explained that the original manga’s rapid shifts between serious moments, gags, and emotional stories made it difficult to turn into an anime. His solution was to borrow the pacing of short-form videos people watch every day—like a cooking recipe followed by an accident clip followed by a cute animal video—because audiences are already used to that kind of fast scene-switching.
Hori also described Season 1 as the heaviest production of his career, saying it “felt like swimming across an ocean without ever stopping—completely exhausting”. For Season 2, he confirmed that production is moving along smoothly and that several Season 1 characters will return. He also teased that Gero will meet a new marriage prospect and that scenes will deepen the relationship between Gero and Kinosaki.
Cast and Staff Returning for Season 2
The main voice cast is confirmed to return. Haruki Ishiya voices Hikaru Gero, and Shion Wakayama voices Mei Kinosaki. The production team behind Season 1 is also back, including series composer Kimiko Ueno, character designer and chief animation director Kohei Tokuoka, and music composers Taisei Iwasaki and yuma yamaguchi. Bones Film returns for animation production, with SANZIGEN handling 3DCG.
Creators Tease New Heroines and Action for Season 2
Manga creators Joumyaku (story) and Mizuki Yoda (art) have shared their excitement for the new season. Joumyaku promised that “even more captivating heroines will appear one after another” and that there is “plenty of cool action” fans can look forward to. Yoda added that new characters the creators personally love will arrive in Season 2, and that the story continues to operate within a shonen framework even though most of its cast are adults.
Joumyaku also reflected on how the manga began. “It started with the single idea of ‘a Poison Master goes on a search for marriage,’ and from there, as we built the characters and the story, everything I had read, experienced, and picked up along the way got layered onto it,” he said.
Where to Watch Marriagetoxin
Season 1 of Marriagetoxin is currently streaming on Crunchyroll with English subtitles and an English dub. The platform is available in several regions, including India, Southeast Asia, and other global territories. Season 2 will premiere in January 2027 on Kansai TV and Fuji TV‘s new Karnival!! programming block, airing on Tuesdays at 11:00 p.m. JST in Japan. Crunchyroll is expected to handle global streaming, though an exact international release date beyond January 2027 has not yet been announced.

The Marriagetoxin manga, written by Joumyaku and illustrated by Mizuki Yoda, launched on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app in April 2022.
