Some feel he should apologize for his actions.
Most recently, NCT’s Renjun posted a message on Bubble, exposing the phone number of an alleged sasaeng.
However, the owner of the phone number posted a statement online, revealing that they were not a sasaeng and did not have any intention of calling Renjun.
“Calling a number by mistake is wrong, but is it ok to expose a regular person’s number publicly without checking the facts?
I have received a massive amount of verbal abuse and had to change my phone number all because I made a mistake calling the wrong number. I am requesting a proper explanation from SM.”
The owner of the phone number also posted a screen shot of their phone, stating that they only called the number once by mistake.
“I am the owner of the phone number. A lot of people are wondering if I called him more than once, but I swear to you that I only called him once.”
K-Netizens showed mixed reactions to the matter with some telling the exposed person to sue and others demanding Renjun to apologize.
- “I was worried since I saw the post about Renjun exposing a sasaeng’s number. Even if that was a sasaeng’s number, all they needed to do was change their number. But what about the people that use that number after them? This kind of event can happen. I feel bad for that girl. How did it end up like this.”
- “They need to sue. This is ridiculous. Why is he hiding behind his manager.”
- “I get that it’s a misunderstanding, but he should apologize if you made this situation like this. You can’t just say you did this because of something and hide.”
- “I’m worried that people will bother the victim even more.”
- “Looking at the additional posts, it does look like just a normal person who called the wrong number. And the idol should know if that person called him once or many times. He could decipher if they were real sasaeng or not that way. What does he mean he won’t apologize because they could be a sasaeng. If you are having a hard time, take a break from Bubble too.”
- “He exposed a sasaeng’s number before. Does he expect the fans to fight for him?”
- “So the phone number was of a person with the same name as Friend A, but that person changed their number, and Renjun used that number? Then, the person who used the number before should testify that this was their number. Since there are probably many people suspicious that the number you called accidentally happens to be an idol’s number.”
- “If the idol checks his call list, he can see if they called him once or many times. Why is he like this? I hope the victim sues.”
- “Why isn’t he apologizing? What did the person do wrong?”
- “I think the phone number owner is young….so unfortunate. What is all this? I hope he apologizes sincerely. Is this some tradition with SM? There was a similar case like this before.”
