Prime Video’s college hockey romance Off Campus quickly became one of the most talked-about shows after its first season dropped in May 2026. Now, with production gearing up for Season 2, fans are getting answers about where the show is filming, when it might return, and which love story will take the lead next.
The series, based on Elle Kennedy’s popular book series, follows students at Briar University as they deal with romance, friendship, and growing up. Season 1 focused on Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham. But the show made a smart move early on—setting up the next couple, Allie Hayes and Dean Di Laurentis, before the first season even ended.
Season 2 Filming Starts June 2026 in Vancouver
Production for Off Campus Season 2 is scheduled to begin June 1, 2026, and continue through September 18, 2026. The crew will work out of North Shore Studios, with most exterior scenes filmed across Vancouver and the surrounding area.
The University of British Columbia (UBC) campus will again stand in for the fictional Briar University. In Season 1, the production team used several spots at UBC, including the Main Library steps for outdoor student hangout scenes and the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre for hockey game sequences.
The show’s working title for Season 2 is SKYLIGHT, a common practice for TV productions trying to keep filming locations private.

Dean and Allie Become the Main Couple in Season 2
Mika Abdalla (Allie Hayes) and Stephen Kalyn (Dean Di Laurentis) move from side characters to the central romance in Season 2. This choice jumps ahead in Kennedy’s book series—Book 3, The Score, covers Allie and Dean’s story, skipping Book 2 (The Mistake), which follows Logan and Grace.
“We are so excited to continue Allie and Dean’s story as our primary romance of season 2 after kickstarting their romance in season 1,” creator Louisa Levy said in a statement. “But if you fell in love with Hannah and Garrett, don’t worry — they will still be an integral part of our robust ensemble.”
The show planted the seeds for this pairing in Season 1’s final episodes. Viewers learned that after Allie broke up with her long-term boyfriend Sean, she and Dean started a secret fling. Season 2 will show how that relationship develops into something much deeper.
Author Elle Kennedy, who wrote the original books, shared what she hopes to see between Allie and Dean on screen.
“I want to see more of both of them finding this deeper connection,” Kennedy told TODAY.com. “Dean, especially, realizing the life of Dean is not all sunshine and rainbows, and just growing as a person. How people deal with tragedy and changes, and family issues, and whether her dad likes you or not.”
Returning Cast and New Faces Joining Season 2
Belmont Cameli (Garrett) and Ella Bright (Hannah) will return in Season 2, though their romance is no longer the main focus. Antonio Cipriano (Logan), Jalen Thomas Brooks (Tucker), and Khobe Clarke are also coming back.
Two new cast members have joined for Season 2:
- India Fowler plays Grace Ivers, Logan’s love interest from Book 2
- Phillipa Soo (known for Hamilton) plays Scarlett, a theater artist guest-directing a play at the college’s drama department
One character won’t return. Josh Heuston, who played Justin, is not part of Season 2 due to scheduling conflicts. Levy told TV Guide, “Not next season, but I love Josh and I would not write him off if I can find a way to bring Justin back at some point.”
When Will Off Campus Season 2 Release?
Prime Video has not announced an official release date yet. But based on the production timeline—ending in September 2026—the season will likely arrive in April or May 2027. Season 1 followed a similar pattern, finishing production months before its May 2026 premiere.
All eight episodes of Season 2 have already been written. Levy confirmed the writers’ room finished their work before Season 1 even aired. However, she noted that “adjustments” could still happen depending on how the first season was received.

Social media lit up after Prime Video confirmed the couple switch. Many book readers expected the show to follow the books in order, but most seem excited about getting Dean and Allie’s story sooner.
Kennedy offered reassurance to fans worried that skipping Book 2 means missing key moments.
“You haven’t seen that much,” Kennedy said, referring to how much of The Score was shown in Season 1. “There are so many plot points that are happening that we have not seen. I think they’re going to see some of their favorite moments that haven’t happened yet. There’s some scenes that they’re going to be getting teary-eyed over that are from the books.”
The show’s approach is slightly different from other book-to-screen adaptations like Bridgerton. Levy explained that each season will focus on one couple’s happy ending while setting up another romance for the following season. This keeps the full ensemble involved while giving audiences a clear idea of who to root for each year.
