Amazon’s streaming service is adding several new and returning titles to its lineup. Prime Video announced a slate of upcoming shows during its upfront presentation in New York on May 11, 2026. The list includes action thrillers, fantasy dramas, and reality competitions.
‘Reacher’ Gets a Season 5 Renewal
Alan Ritchson will return as Jack Reacher for a fifth season. The renewal came before the fourth season even aired. Prime Video’s Head of Global Television, Peter Friedlander, explained the decision.
“We’re excited to move forward with a fifth season ahead of season four’s debut and to build on this incredible momentum.”
The first three seasons of the show are available to stream right now. Season 4 will be based on Lee Child’s 13th book, Gone Tomorrow. A release date for Season 4 has not been set yet.
‘Fourth Wing’ Fantasy Series Takes Flight
Prime Video officially ordered a series adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’ popular book Fourth Wing. The story follows Violet Sorrengail, a 20-year-old forced to join a dangerous war college where riders bond with dragons. Michael B. Jordan announced the news on stage at the event. He is producing through his company Outlier Society.
Meredith Averill, known for The Haunting of Hill House, will run the show. Lisa Joy from Westworld will direct the first episode. Yarros shared her excitement about the team working on her books.
“I’m thrilled to be working with this dedicated, experienced team and grateful for their passion for both the books and the readership behind them,” said Yarros.
‘Blade Runner 2099’ Arrives in 2027
The sci-fi series Blade Runner 2099 is coming to the platform in 2027. Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer lead the cast of this limited series. The show picks up 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049. The series is currently in post-production.

‘Ride or Die’ is an action comedy hitting the service on July 15, 2026. Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham star as best friends. One of them secretly works as an international assassin.
‘Escorted’ features Brett Goldstein from Ted Lasso as a divorced dad who becomes a male escort in Manhattan.
‘Sex Criminals’ is based on the popular comic book. Imogen Poots and John Reynolds play a couple who can freeze time during intimate moments. They use this power to rob banks.
‘Reality Retreat’ puts 11 reality TV stars in a wellness competition. The cast includes Kenya Moore, Kaitlyn Bristowe, and Tamar Braxton.

‘The Boys’ will end with its fifth season. Karl Urban and the main cast return for the final chapter. ‘Invincible’ also comes back for a fourth season.
