Actor and politician Ravi Kishan recently opened up about his experience on Prime Video’s reality show Alliance. He shared why the show is more difficult than other reality competitions and explained the real reason he decided to participate alongside his daughter Rivva Kishan.
Kishan, who serves as a Member of Parliament from Gorakhpur, took a voluntary exit from the show after six days due to his work commitments. But his short time on the series gave viewers a close look at his bond with Rivva. In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, the actor-politician spoke about the show’s tough format, the lack of public voting, and why he put everything at stake for his daughter.
Alliance Demands Strategy, Not Drama
Ravi Kishan made it clear that Alliance is not like other reality shows where contestants can survive by creating conflict. He said the show requires real mental strength and careful planning.
This is a very difficult show. You can’t survive by abusing people, backbiting, going below the belt or character assassination.
He explained that unlike other reality competitions, there is no public voting in Alliance. Contestants have to depend on strategy and teamwork throughout the game. Every day requires new planning because everyone wants to win.
Kishan said the show tests players in ways that other reality shows do not. The format forces contestants to think carefully about their moves and build relationships that can help them survive. He called it a “mental game” where physical strength alone is not enough.
Ravi Kishan Joined Only for Daughter Rivva
The actor revealed that he never planned to do a reality show. It was Rivva Kishan who convinced him to join Alliance.
She said, ‘Papa, let’s do this show.’ At first, I was worried because of my responsibilities and career. But then I understood that she wanted to spend time with me, and that was the reason I said yes.
Kishan admitted he was scared before entering the house. As a parliamentarian and an actor with a 34-year career, he worried about saying something wrong on camera. He told Rivva that one mistake could ruin everything he had built over the years.
But he eventually understood what his daughter really wanted. She did not just want to do a show. She wanted to spend time with her father.
I could understand that a daughter is very connected to their fathers, so that daughter was asking me to go.
Kishan also shared that Rivva wanted to step out of his shadow and create her own identity. She had done theatre and a movie with Akshaye Khanna, but it did not perform well. The show gave her a chance to be seen as her own person.

He put everything at stake so his daughter would never say he did not stand by her when she had an opportunity.
Show Brought Father and Daughter Closer
Being on Alliance without phones and outside distractions gave Ravi Kishan and Rivva time to connect in a way they had not done in years.
No mobile, khaali aap apni beti ko dekh rahe ho. Voh bhi aapne kaanch ke kamre se mujhe samne dekh rahi hai.
Kishan said the experience brought back a carefree side of him that had been buried for a long time. His responsibilities as a parliamentarian kept him away from family life. The show gave him a rare chance to relax and have fun with his daughter.
The child in me, which had been suppressed inside me for so many years, was coming out. I was really enjoying. Rivva was also watching and enjoying.
He noticed how happy Rivva was to see him dancing, doing tasks, and acting silly. For her, it was a treat to see her father unwind and enjoy himself.
The show separated them during the competition but brought them closer as father and daughter.
We are both very real people, and we’re deeply attached to each other. The game separated us, but it brought us even closer.
Ravi Kishan’s Emotional Exit From Alliance
Ravi Kishan left the show in Episode 6 due to his duties as a Member of Parliament. His exit became one of the most emotional moments of the season.
Before leaving, he spoke to his fellow contestants one last time.
Aap logo ne mujhe itna pyaar diya, itna izzat samman diya. Rivva ko pata hai mere aansu kisi ne aaj tak dekhe nahi. Maine apni duty nibhayi, main iss show mein jis liye aaya tha woh maine kiya. Ab mere duty ka call aa gaya hai, cause logon ne mujhe vote kiya hai. Main wapas Gorakhpur jaa raha hoon, wahi rehta hoon main.
Several contestants got emotional. Nikhil Chinapa said he had learned a lot from Kishan. Armaan Khera broke down and hugged him. Host Kunal Kemmu also acknowledged Kishan’s impact on the house.
Miss toh bahut karenge Ravi bhaiya ko, unki energy toh hai yaar. Main bhi maanta hoon, the first day when I came, unse milke unki baatein sunke, matlab ek alag duniya mein le jaate hai.
Rivva broke down after her father left. She said, “Yaad aa rahi hai… incomplete feel ho raha hai. Meri shakti hai wo”.
No Public Voting Makes Alliance Different
One of the biggest differences between Alliance and other reality shows is the absence of public voting. Contestants cannot rely on fan support to save them. They have to win challenges and build strong alliances to survive.
Kishan said this makes the show much harder than others where contestants can use drama and fights to stay relevant.

He added that the show reminded him of his younger days and brought out the child within him despite his busy professional life.
What Is Alliance on Prime Video?
Alliance is a Hindi-language reality competition series hosted by Kunal Kemmu and produced by Banijay Asia. The show brings together 16 celebrity contestants who compete in pairs called “Allies”.
The contestants include Ravi Kishan and Rivva Kishan, Kushal Tandon and Arslan Goni, Mini Mathur and Nikhil Chinapa, Zaid Darbar and Daisy Shah, Ruhee Dosani and Niti Taylor, Payal Dhare and Sabby Suri, Vanshaj Singh and Armaan Khera, and Delbar Arya and Dollyy Javved.
Set inside a high-tech underground facility, the show features physical and knowledge-based challenges, secret missions, and strategic gameplay. While participants enter as duos, the format tests loyalties and alliances shift throughout the season.
Alliance started streaming on Prime Video from June 26, 2026. New episodes release daily at 12 PM IST. The series will run for 42 episodes over six weeks.
Ravi Kishan’s Career and Public Image
Ravi Kishan has worked across Hindi, Bhojpuri, and regional cinema for over three decades. He is known for his work in films like Laapataa Ladies and Maamla Legal Hai. In addition to his acting career, he serves as a Member of Parliament from Gorakhpur.
Despite his political responsibilities, Kishan said he does not take himself too seriously.
I take my profession seriously, but I don’t take myself that seriously. After becoming a Parliamentarian, people expect you to behave differently, but I can’t do that. I’m a Shiva devotee and I love living carefree.
He also shared that he was relieved to leave the show without any controversy. He did not want to become the subject of memes or negative attention.
