The latest episode of Sheriff Country threw Mickey Fox right into the middle of a fierce land conflict while she tried to celebrate her daughter Skye’s 24th birthday. The episode titled “Twenty Four Candles” aired on CBS on April 24, 2026. It showed Mickey trying to keep her town safe and her family together, all at the same time. The case involved a violent attack on a local ranch owner, and it quickly became clear that someone big was trying to force people off their land.
A Birthday Interrupted by a Dangerous Land Dispute in Deadwater
The episode started with Skye looking forward to her special day. But before Mickey could even think about cake and gifts, she got called to a crime scene in Deadwater. A ranch owner named Dale had been badly beaten. His son Tommy was also hurt and had to go to the hospital. The attackers left a clear message. They tied a sign around Dale’s neck that said “should’ve sold.”
This was not a random fight. Mickey realized quickly that this was part of a bigger scheme. Someone was trying to scare landowners into selling their property. The situation was very dangerous because the people behind it stayed hidden. They used a secret company called an LLC to buy the land, so no one knew who was really calling the shots.
Meanwhile, Mickey’s father, Wes Fox, was dealing with his own set of problems. He had promised Mickey he would stop his illegal weed business. But he went back on that promise. He started working with other growers in a group to sell marijuana without a license. When Wes went to Dale’s farm to pick up some products, he found the terrible scene. He tried to help, but he also had to hide the drugs he came to get. He drove away in Dale’s car with a large amount of money to keep it safe.
Mickey’s Plan to Trap the Land Buyers
Mickey and her deputy Nathan Boone knew they had to act fast. They decided to set a trap. They organized a police auction to sell a piece of land the department had taken from criminals. They were sure the secret buyers would show up to bid on it.
The plan worked. At the auction, a lawyer placed the winning bid of two million dollars. But when Mickey questioned him, the lawyer admitted he did not know who he was working for. He had never met the real boss. He was just a front man.
To get more evidence, the team asked Gina to help. Gina works in the office and usually just runs errands. But in this episode, she got a real chance to be a hero. She wore a hidden microphone and went into a diner to record the lawyer and another man talking. When the lawyer said he wanted out because he was scared, the other man threatened him. He said the lawyer would “end up just like the grower” if he did not keep making deals.
This recording gave Mickey enough to arrest both men. It was a big win for the Sheriff’s department. But the mystery of who is really behind the land conflict remains unsolved. The arrested men are just workers, not the bosses.
Wes Gets Caught in His Own Web of Lies
While Mickey was solving crimes, Wes was running from them. He was driving around with a lot of money from the land sale. He wanted to keep his illegal business a secret from his daughter. But he lost the money. He also missed most of Skye’s birthday party because he was trying to fix his mistakes.
The episode showed how hard it is for Mickey to trust her father. She loves him, but she is the sheriff. His choices could ruin her career. At the end of the episode, Mickey told Wes that the police had recovered the missing three million dollars. Wes looked relieved, but the audience knows he is still in deep trouble.
I get the feeling the co-op won’t stick by Wes as the truth comes out, despite knowing it could have happened to any of them.
