Shin Si Ah has officially replaced Go Min Si as the female lead in the upcoming drama Grand Galaxy Hotel. The casting change came after Go Min Si faced serious school bullying allegations. The drama, written by the Hong Sisters and starring Lee Do Hyun, is a sequel to the hit series Hotel Del Luna.

Production was delayed by three months due to the recasting. Shin Si Ah, known for Resident Playbook and The Witch: Part 2, will now play the lead opposite Lee Do Hyun.

Why Was Go Min Si Replaced?

Go Min Si was originally cast as the female lead in Grand Galaxy Hotel. However, in May 2025, an anonymous online post accused her of school bullying and money extortion during her middle school years. The post claimed she and her friends targeted disabled students.

Her agency, Mystic Story, denied the allegations. However, the controversy led to public backlash. Many fans demanded her removal from projects. The production team initially stood by her but later decided to replace her to avoid further issues.

“Given that the school bullying issue has not been fully resolved, we decided it was best to address this matter first. After discussions with the production team, we agreed on her departure,” Mystic Story told TenAsia.

Shin Si Ah Steps In as the New Lead

Shin Si Ah was quickly chosen as Go Min Si’s replacement. She gained fame through Resident Playbook and The Witch: Part 2. Her agency, Management SOOP, confirmed her casting on June 26, 2025.

Fans welcomed the news, expressing excitement about her pairing with Lee Do Hyun.

“Im excited to see their chemistry here! 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹,” one fan wrote on social media.

“Omg!!!!!! Let’s gooo!!!! Main lead era for Sia and Dohyun is coming back🥺,” another fan commented.

About Grand Galaxy Hotel

Grand Galaxy Hotel is a fantasy-thriller drama and a sequel to Hotel Del Luna. The story follows a hotel for ghosts that loses its original owner. Lee Do Hyun plays Eun Ha, the new owner, while Shin Si Ah plays Sang Sun, a dedicated hotel employee.

The Hong Sisters, known for Hotel Del Luna and Alchemy of Souls, wrote the script. Director Oh Choong Hwan, who worked on Big Mouth and Start-Up, is leading the project.

Filming was delayed by three months due to the casting change. Production will begin in late 2025, with a possible 2026 release on Netflix.

Lee Do Hyun’s Comeback Drama

This marks Lee Do Hyun’s first project after completing military service in May 2025. He previously had a small role in Hotel Del Luna, making this a full-circle moment.

“Lee Do Hyun is extremely grateful to have numerous offers flooding in, including acting roles and advertisement roles. After much deliberation, he has decided on Grand Galaxy Hotel as his next project,” his agency Yuehua Entertainment said.

Fan Reactions to the Casting Change

While some fans were disappointed about Go Min Si’s exit, many supported Shin Si Ah’s casting.

“OK IM SEATED FOR THIS NEW PAIRING,” a fan tweeted.

“Whoever had the genius idea of casting lee dohyun and shin sia in one drama, i seriously owe you a lifetime’s worth of gratitude,” another wrote.
