What Happened in Episode 1 and What to Expect in Episode 2
The first episode introduced viewers to Dam Ye Jin (Chae Won-bin). She is a shopping host who works too hard. She suffers from chronic insomnia and cannot sleep even after taking strong medicine. The show also showed why she cannot rest. A past incident caused trauma that keeps her awake at night.
Matthew Lee (Ahn Hyo-seop) lives a completely different life. He helps people in Deokpung Village even though he acts like he does not want to. He drives a tiller around the village like a shuttle bus for older people. He also runs a mushroom farming business. He is busy but seems calmer than Dam Ye Jin.
The two characters met at the end of episode 1. Dam Ye Jin came to Deokpung Village to find a special white flower nuri mushroom. She accidentally entered through the wrong road. Matthew Lee was driving his tiller on the same road. They ended up facing each other and refused to move. The episode ended with both of them telling each other to get out of the way.
Episode 2 picks up from this moment. New photos from the show reveal that Dam Ye Jin tries to climb over the fence to Matthew Lee’s house. He does not look happy about it. The police also seem to arrive at his property. This visit will push them into an awkward love-hate relationship that drives the rest of the story.
The first episode recorded 3.3% ratings nationwide in South Korea and 3.7% in the Seoul area. Some viewers said they wanted to see the two leads interact more in episode 1. Others noted that Ahn Hyo-seop‘s screen time was shorter than expected. But most viewers liked the actors’ performances and the fresh setting of Deokpung Village.
