The cream caused health problems for buyers.
Her personal life also falls apart. Her boyfriend breaks up with her during a date because she only talks about work. At home, she suffers from chronic insomnia and takes strong sleeping pills just to rest a little.
The episode then shows Matthew Lee (played by Ahn Hyo-seop), a farmer living in Deokpung Village. He comes across as rude and sharp-tongued. He always tells villagers, “This is the last time,” whenever they ask for help. But he always helps them anyway. He fixes TV antennas, removes beehives, and even helps a cow give birth to a calf.
Dam Ye-jin learns that LโEtoileโs main ingredient is a rare white flower mushroom. The only farm that grows it is in Deokpung Village. She drives there in her red sports car. Sold Out on You episode 2 aired on April 23, 2026. The episode continued the story in Deokpung Village. Dam Ye-jin remains stuck on the narrow road against Matthew Lee. Neither gives way for a long time. Finally, Matthew moves his tractor just to end the standoff. He tells her to leave, but she refuses.
Dam Ye-jin discovers that Matthew Lee is not just a simple farmer. He is actually the CEO of a natural cosmetics ingredient company. He also leads research for the company. The mushroom farm he runs is the only one in the world that grows the white flower mushroom. This makes him the only person who can help her get the LโEtoile deal.
She tries to convince him to work with her. Matthew rejects her offer many times. He appears not interested in business or money. The episode shows more of his daily life. Villagers keep asking for help, and he keeps saying no but helping anyway.
Dam Ye-jinโs past comes up again. The trauma from the failed beauty cream sale still troubles her. The flashbacks show a woman named Song Myung-hwa who was involved in that incident. Viewers also saw a man holding a baby in those flashbacks, suggesting a family connection.
