Episode 10 Recap: What Happened Before Episode 11

The episode opened with Kihachi and Inako still arguing because Inako was upset that Kihachi had handed over his brother’s electric catalog to save her from being a child bride. Kihachi had refused to explain his reasons, which made Inako believe he had given up on their shared dream.
The misunderstanding cleared up when Inako discovered Kihachi working on a new invention: an electric aircraft. This revealed that Kihachi had not given up on his dream. Instead, he had realized that following Seiroku’s path forever was not the same as having a dream of his own. His new goal was to create something new, and the electric aircraft connected directly with Inako’s wish to see Mount Fuji from above the clouds.
The episode then shifted to Kengo and Noriko, whose relationship had been complicated by Seiroku for years. Kengo decided he should break up with Noriko because he felt guilty about hiding facts concerning Seiroku from her. He had also carried feelings for Noriko since childhood but believed her feelings for Seiroku were stronger. Kihachi and Inako refused to let Kengo throw away his relationship and worked out a plan to bring the two back together, turning the emotional storyline into one of the episode’s more chaotic and funny sequences.
The episode also revealed that Yosuke Mizoe had uncovered blueprints for the “electric nishiki” from the electric catalog. He seemed to believe it would allow him to revive Seiroku, but Kihachi was not impressed by the invention.
