Comedian Sunil Pal has made a big claim about Samay Raina’s popular show India’s Got Latent Season 2. He says he was offered ₹25 lakh to appear on the show but said no. The veteran comedian also made a comment about Alia Bhatt after she appeared as a guest on the show. This has added more fuel to his ongoing fight with Samay Raina over comedy and language.
Sunil Pal spoke to the paparazzi in Mumbai on Thursday. He was going to watch the film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ when the media asked him about Samay Raina’s show. The comedian did not hold back and shared details about the offer he received.
Sunil Pal Says No to ₹25 Lakh Offer
Sunil Pal claimed that Samay Raina personally asked him to be part of India’s Got Latent Season 2. The offer was for ₹25 lakh. But the comedian turned it down because he did not want to use abusive language on the show.
“Usne baat ki toh Rs 25 lakh dene ki, lekin maine kaha, ‘Main gaali nahi dunga.’ Usne kaha, ‘Aap mat dena, lekin baaki sab toh…’”
This means Samay offered him the money, but Sunil said he would not use swear words. Samay then told him he did not have to, but everyone else on the show would.
Sunil Pal also pointed out that Samay Raina follows him on Instagram. He said, “Samay Raina has almost 11 million followers and he follows me. This shows that he is now following the right person”. When asked if he would appear on the show, Sunil replied, “Why would I go to his show. He is following me. He will come after me”.
The Dig at Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt and Sharvari appeared as guests on the first episode of India’s Got Latent Season 2. They were there to promote their film Alpha. Sunil Pal did not like this and made a comment about the actress.
On his Facebook page, Sunil wrote in Hindi: “Jahaan hai gaaliya, wahaan hai Alia”. This translates to “Where there are abuses, there is Alia”.
When the paparazzi pointed out that Alia and Sharvari did not use abusive language on the show, Sunil responded with a joke. He said, “Jahaan jahaan hai Alia, wahaan wahaan hai gaaliyan, baja do taaliyan, warna sapne mein aayega Vijay Mallya”. This means wherever Alia goes, swear words follow, and if you don’t clap, Vijay Mallya will appear in your dreams.
The comment about Alia came after Samay Raina made a joke about Sunil on the same episode. During the show, Samay asked a contestant which toothpaste she used and then said, “Give that to Sunil Pal also”. Alia was seen laughing at this.
The Long Fight Between Sunil Pal and Samay Raina
The fight between Sunil Pal and Samay Raina started in 2025. Sunil criticised Samay for using bad language in the first season of India’s Got Latent. The show was streaming on YouTube at that time.
Sunil Pal made strong comments back then. He told IANS, “Do not call them stand-up comedians. That would be an insult to real stand-up comedy. They are uneducated individuals who should be treated like terrorists”. He also said that young people are trying to be responsible, but these comedians are given platforms to use vulgar language.
Samay Raina responded during his stand-up special called Still Alive. He called Sunil “insecure” and “frustrated”. Samay also made fun of Sunil’s advice to learn from Kapil Sharma. He said, “Kapil Sharma himself was coming on the next episode. Kapil Sharma himself was messaging me, ‘love your show’”.
The two comedians also appeared together on The Great Indian Kapil Show earlier this year. They continued to take digs at each other even then.
The Viral Brush Joke
The fight became bigger when Samay Raina brought back his famous “brush” joke on India’s Got Latent Season 2. Samay had earlier asked Sunil, “Aap brush kyun nahi karte?” which means “Why don’t you brush?”.
Sunil Pal hit back with a sharp Instagram video. In the video, mimicry artist Jay Verma copied Samay’s style while Sunil delivered his response. Sunil said, “Bhai, main brush nahi karta hoon tune aisa mujhe bola tha na? Par Samay Raina tu toh brush karta hai, tere muh se itni gandagi kyun nikalti hai bhai?”. He asked Samay why so much filth comes out of his mouth even though he brushes his teeth.

Sunil Pal’s Previous Comments on the Show
Sunil Pal has been very clear about his dislike for India’s Got Latent. He had earlier said that Samay should sit his own parents in front of the show and perform. He said, “In Samay Raina’s new season, seat two people, your mother, your own mother, and your own father. Show the program in front of them, then I will believe that there is Samay and there is Raina”.
The comedian has also criticised the show’s format and style of humour multiple times. He believes that comedy should be clean and not rely on abusive language.
