Mark Duplass is back in the mask, and this time he is bringing twice the horror each week. Each episode follows a new person who agrees to meet the killer for a recording. The meetings start awkward and funny, then turn dark as the killer’s behavior becomes stranger. By the time the victim understands what is happening, escape is nearly impossible.
Duplass told TV Insider that Season 3 goes deeper into the killer’s backstory than ever before. The throwback episode with Ora Duplass is a key part of that. It shows the killer before he became the figure fans know, and it offers clues about why he behaves the way he does. The show has always kept its main character a mystery, so this is a notable shift.
A new trailer for the season arrived on August 18, 2026, and it showed quick cuts of the new victims, the return of the Peachfuzz wolf mask, and the same uncomfortable humor that defines the series. The Creep Tapes began as a spin-off of the Creep movies. The first film came out in 2014 and followed a videographer who answers a Craigslist ad for a one-day filming job.
