The wait is almost over for fans of the hit animated series. Prime Video just dropped the official trailer for The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4, giving everyone a proper look at what happens when the team breaks apart. The new season starts streaming on June 3, 2026, with a three-episode weekly rollout available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The trailer shows the group one year after their fight with the Chroma Conclave. Each member went their own way to find love, family or purpose. But something dark is waking up. The Whispered One, also known as Vecna, is coming. This villain was first mentioned by Delilah Briarwood and made a short appearance in season three. Now he is ready to cause real trouble for Exandria.
The Team Breaks Apart Before Facing Their Darkest Enemy
Season four picks up with Vox Machina scattered across different places. Vaxโildan (Liam OโBrien) is dealing with the results of breaking his promise to the Matron of Ravens. Keyleth (Marisha Ray) continues her journey to become the Voice of the Tempest but she is struggling. Percy (Taliesin Jaffe) and Vexโahlia (Laura Bailey) are trying to handle the political problems in Whitestone and Vasselheim.
Scanlan (Sam Riegel) comes back from his world tour. Pike (Ashley Johnson) and Grog (Travis Willingham) share stories of their adventures in a bar. The group seems happy apart, but the trailer makes it clear they will need to come together again. A long-slumbering evil is awake, and it wants to destroy everything.
โWhen a long-slumbering evil awakens to threaten the realm, they must reunite to take on an epic foe.โ – Official Season 4 synopsis from Prime Video
The trailer includes fast cuts of supernatural villains, death cults, and Vax seeing scary visions of what is coming. The animation looks bigger and darker than before. Vecna, also called the Whispered One, appears to be the main problem this season. He is one of the most powerful enemies from the original Critical Role campaign, and fans have been waiting to see how the show handles this story.
New Characters and Returning Cast Members Join Season 4
All the main voice actors are back for season four. Matthew Mercer, who runs the original game and voices several characters, returns alongside the full Critical Role founding cast. Travis Willingham (Grog), Laura Bailey (Vex), Ashley Johnson (Pike), Liam OโBrien (Vax), Marisha Ray (Keyleth), Sam Riegel (Scanlan), and Taliesin Jaffe (Percy) are all confirmed to return.
New faces are also joining the show. Wayne Brady will voice Taryon Darrington, a character who joins the team for a while. Kevin Michael Richardson and Debra Wilson have also joined the cast, though their roles have not been shared yet. Tom Cardy is also part of the new season as a voice actor.
The show continues to be a production of Amazon MGM Studios, Critical Role, and Titmouse. The Critical Role cast members also work as executive producers, along with Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, and Ben Kalina from Titmouse.
