Prime Video has locked in the return date for one of its biggest action series. The Terminal List Season 2 will premiere on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, with all eight episodes available to stream immediately. The announcement came during Amazon’s Upfronts presentation in New York on May 11, 2026.
The series stars Chris Pratt as Navy SEAL Commander James Reece, who returns after finishing his revenge mission in Season 1. This time, the story moves beyond personal vengeance into a larger global conflict.
Season 2 Adapts Jack Carr’s Second Novel “True Believer”
The new season draws from Jack Carr’s second book in the James Reece series, True Believer. While Season 1 focused on Reece hunting down those who killed his family and platoon, Season 2 shifts to a worldwide espionage thriller.
Reece, who was living as a fugitive, gets pulled back into action by the U.S. government. A deadly terrorist attack forces him to track down the leaders behind a global threat. The story takes Reece across multiple continents, including the Indian Ocean, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
The plot involves bombings at a London holiday fair that become a key moment in the season. Reece must untangle a geopolitical conspiracy that stretches from Moscow to Langley, making him question who he can trust.
Every Episode Arrives at Once for Binge Watching
Prime Video is releasing all eight episodes together on October 21, 2026. This matches the release format from Season 1, which dropped all episodes on July 1, 2022.
The season will be available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Viewers need an active Prime Video subscription to stream the series.
Chris Pratt Leads a Stacked Cast of Returning and New Faces
Chris Pratt returns as James Reece and also serves as an executive producer through his Indivisible Productions.
Several cast members from Season 1 are coming back:

- Constance Wu as Katie Buranek
- Dar Salim as Mohammed “Mo” Farooq
- JD Pardo, Tyner Rushing, and Tara Rosling also return
New additions to the cast include:
- Gabriel Luna (The Last of Us) as Freddy Strain, a former SEAL Team 6 Senior Chief now working with the CIA
- Luke Hemsworth as Jules Landry, described as “a self-obsessed CIA contractor who hides a dangerously volatile personality”
- Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Arnold Vosloo, Shiraz Tzarfati, Martin Sensmeier, Edwin Hodge, and Caitlin Bassett
Production Wrapped in 2025 After Filming Across Multiple Countries
Filming for Season 2 began in spring 2025 and wrapped in October 2025. Production took place in South Africa, Canada, and Morocco. Specific filming locations included Toronto, Cape Town, and multiple cities in Morocco including Casablanca, Marrakesh, and Tangier.
Author Jack Carr confirmed in March 2026 that the season had finished filming and was in post-production. He shared on social media that the team was “in post-production editing the final episode”. Chris Pratt also confirmed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that six of eight episodes were already locked.
Military Veterans Ensure Authentic Action Sequences
The series maintains its commitment to realistic portrayals of military operations. Executive producer Jared Shaw, a former Navy SEAL, and executive producer Max Adams, a former Army Ranger, oversee the action sequences and technical accuracy.
Former Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza, known for his work on the film Warfare, also contributes behind the camera. Military veterans work as writers, actors, on-set technical advisors, and directors for the series.

Prime Video released a teaser trailer during the Upfronts presentation. The teaser hints at a darker and more intense storyline. The official season carries the subtitle “True Believer,” matching the book it adapts.
First Season Built Strong Audience Following
Season 1 of The Terminal List premiered on July 1, 2022. While critics gave it a 42% score on Rotten Tomatoes, audiences responded much more positively with a 94% approval rating. The show reached Amazon Prime Video’s internal top-10 charts and recorded more than a billion viewing minutes in Nielsen measurements.
The series holds an IMDb rating of 7.9 out of 10. Amazon renewed the show for Season 2 in February 2023. The streamer also released a prequel series called The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, which premiered in August 2025.
