What Happened in Episode 5

Episode 5, titled “The Owner of the Tree of Life,” delivered major developments in the story. The episode opened with a high-stakes auction where a new relic called the Tree of Life was up for sale.

Chairman Kwon personally showed up to confront the main character. Both sides competed fiercely to get the Tree of Life relic, which has powerful healing abilities.

A flashback revealed why Jooheon wanted this relic so badly. In his previous life, he suffered from severe relic poisoning and only survived because Kwon controlled the Tree of Life’s fruit. Kwon used to manipulate Jooheon by controlling access to this fruit. This made the auction deeply personal for the protagonist.

Jooheon knew he could not outbid Chairman Kwon with his current funds. He got help from Irene Holton, the youngest daughter of the influential Holton family. With her financial backing, they easily outbid the chairman and won the Tree of Life.

After the auction, a shocking truth came out. Irene’s body showed a mysterious tattoo, revealing she has a parasitic relic. These relics form a permanent bond with their host and are nearly impossible to remove. Jooheon decided to keep Irene close while searching for a solution.

The second half of Episode 5 introduced several powerful relics that strengthened Jooheon’s collection. He used the Code of Hammurabi, a relic based on the “eye for an eye” principle. This artifact can reflect attacks back at opponents or monitor future behavior to punish betrayal before it happens.

The Tree of Life proved hard to control. Unlike most relics that submit to overwhelming dominance, this relic prefers people with high affinity and kindness. Jooheon left its care to his followers, who earned the relic’s trust more easily than he could.

The episode’s final act brought major tension. Naomi Maso, TKBM’s legal representative, offered Jooheon a $100 million contract on Kwon’s behalf. He refused immediately. When Naomi tried to threaten him, he attacked her using the Code of Hammurabi.

A prophetic relic warned Jooheon that danger was approaching, but he ignored it. Moments later, Chairman Kwon appeared in person, surrounded by a mysterious purple aura and displaying frightening new powers that instantly overwhelmed everyone nearby.

What to Expect in Episode 6

Episode 6 picks up right after Chairman Kwon’s dramatic arrival. With Kwon showing his powers openly, Jooheon faces his biggest threat yet. The confrontation between these two rivals will likely take center stage.

Jooheon now has the Tree of Life and the Code of Hammurabi in his arsenal. But Kwon’s mysterious purple aura suggests he has relics and abilities that viewers have not seen before. The power balance between them remains uncertain.

Irene’s parasitic relic situation also needs attention. Jooheon promised to protect her and find a way to remove the relic. Episode 6 might show him taking steps toward that goal while dealing with Kwon’s attack.

The series has been building toward this clash since episode 1. Jooheon’s revenge against TKBM and Chairman Kwon is the driving force of the entire story. Episode 6 is where that revenge story reaches a critical point.

Why Tomb Raider King Is a Must-Watch Anime

Tomb Raider King stands out as one of the most exciting new anime of 2026. The series offers several reasons why viewers should not miss it.

A Unique Revenge Story – The protagonist is not a typical hero discovering his powers for the first time. Jooheon is a seasoned tomb raider who has already lived through the relic apocalypse. He knows exactly what is coming and uses that knowledge to get ahead. His rage and determination drive the entire season.

Creative Power System – The relic-based power system opens up endless possibilities. Each relic has unique abilities and rules. Some relics are easy to control, while others, like the Tree of Life, have their own preferences and personalities. This keeps the action fresh and unpredictable.

Fast-Paced Storytelling – The series gets into the action almost immediately. There is no slow build-up or long training arcs. Each episode moves the plot forward with new relics, new threats, and new schemes.

Strong Anti-Hero Lead – Jooheon is memorable because he is not a traditional good guy. He manipulates, infiltrates, and tears his enemies apart from the inside. Watching him outsmart powerful opponents is deeply satisfying.

Korean Animation Style – As a Korean aeni (Korean animation), the series offers a different visual and storytelling approach compared to Japanese anime. The show remains in its native Korean language with Japanese and English dubs available.

Perfect for Solo Leveling Fans – If you enjoyed Solo Leveling, Tomb Raider King delivers a similar power fantasy experience. Both series feature dungeon diving, system-like mechanics, and protagonists who grow stronger through relics and artifacts.

The series currently holds a rating of 8.5/10 based on viewer votes. Viewers praise the scheming protagonist and the balance between action and strategy.

Cast and Production

The Japanese voice cast features top talent:

  • Yoshimasa Hosoya (Reiner in Attack on Titan) as Ryōga Gōriki (Jooheon)
  • Saori Hayami (Yor in Spy x Family) as Irene Holton
  • Junichi Suwabe as Taisei Ōgawara
  • Miyu Irino as Kōtarō Yanagi
  • Nobuhiko Okamoto as Sho Kureha

The English dub cast includes Monty Thompson as Jooheon and Cassie Ewulu as Crow.

The series is produced by Studio EEK and directed by Woo Seung-wook. The opening theme song “Show Down” and ending theme “To Be Continued” are performed by QWER.

Episode 6 of Tomb Raider King arrives on August 12, 2026. Do not miss this showdown between Jooheon and Chairman Kwon.
