On July 24, JTBC News Room uncovered part of the will of YouTuber Tzuyang’s ex-boyfriend, leading to significant controversy. The case has raised concerns about the integrity of content shared by certain YouTube channels known as “Wrecker” YouTubers.
What Happened? Allegations Against the “Wrecker” YouTubers
JTBC revealed that Tzuyang’s ex-boyfriend’s lawyer, who has since passed away, was accused of leaking personal details about her. According to the leaked information, the lawyer had supposedly shared confidential details from the will of Tzuyang’s late ex-boyfriend, but with a claim that it was under the direction of his client. This has led to serious allegations against the “Wrecker” YouTubers who have been suspected of blackmailing Tzuyang.
In response to these accusations, JTBC released parts of the will, showing that it contained a statement by the deceased saying, “I am leaving this letter because I am confused by the other party’s claim that I talked about her past. It doesn’t make sense that I talked about her past when I can’t leave the room.”
However, on July 25, JTBC reported that the YouTube channel in question had distributed a distorted version of this will. The edited version removed the initial part of the statement, beginning instead with, “I am leaving a letter.”
The will begins with, ‘I am leaving a letter because I am confused by the other party’s claim that I talked about her past,’ but the edited version takes that part out and starts with, ‘I am leaving a letter.’

What Did JTBC Say About the Distortion?
JTBC confirmed that the version of the will circulating online, particularly through the “Wrecker” YouTube channel, was not the original. They stated that parts of the will had been deleted and altered. According to JTBC, “We have confirmed that the will that JTBC has obtained is the original will of Tzuyang’s boyfriend and that the will posted on the YouTube channel is an edited version.”
JTBC has reached out to the YouTube channel responsible for the altered content but has yet to receive a response. The news organization’s efforts to clarify and correct the misinformation have been ongoing.
Why Is This Issue Important?
The distortion of the will raises serious questions about the ethics of content creation and the potential for misinformation to spread. The edits made to the will’s content could have significant impacts on public perception and the privacy of those involved.
The “Wrecker” YouTubers are under scrutiny for their role in this controversy. The original will’s revelation underscores the importance of verifying the authenticity of sensitive information before sharing it publicly.
