Samay, initially thinking Kapil was just another contestant dressed as a police officer for an act, told him he could not wear a uniform on stage. But Kapil quickly clarified that he is a real police constable serving in the Uttar Pradesh Police.

Kapil Dinkar joined the Uttar Pradesh Police as a constable in 2021 and is currently posted in Meerut. During his appearance on the show, he shared that becoming a police officer was his mother’s dream. He said, “I am a singer, lyricist, composer. That’s what feeds my soul. And apart from that, I am a cop to pay the bills.”
What makes Kapil’s story even more interesting is that he is the only police officer in his department who has official permission to pursue music professionally. He explained that he mostly does night duty so he can focus on his music during the mornings. Apart from singing and composing, Kapil is also an author. He has already written three books and is currently working on eight more.
The Banter That Made the Episode Memorable
The interaction between Kapil and the panel was filled with witty exchanges. When Samay asked him whether he ever feared crime in Uttar Pradesh, Kapil replied confidently, “No, we have been given a great deal of freedom, and we are doing excellent work with it.”
Panelist Haarsh Limbachiyaa joked, “Agar hum jurm karein to aap hi aana pakadne” (If we commit a crime, you come and catch us). Kapil shot back immediately, “Aap jurm karoge hi kyun?” (Why would you commit a crime?). The quick comeback drew laughter from everyone on the set.
Kapil also took a playful dig at Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, singing that because of the controversy surrounding Season 1, he was no longer seen in Season 2.
Kapil Dinkar Wins Perfect 10/10 and Rs 1 Lakh Prize
Kapil performed one of his original songs on the show and impressed everyone. The panel, which included Samay Raina, Kiku Sharda, Chandan Prabhakar, Haarsh Limbachiyaa, and Balraj Singh Ghai, gave him a perfect 10/10 score. Kapil also jokingly awarded himself 10 points. He took home Rs 1 lakh for his performance and an additional Rs 50,000 after correctly answering a bonus question.
There was a funny moment when Samay tried to burst a party popper, but it failed to go off. He joked, “Police ke saamne explosion nahi kar sakte” (Can’t do an explosion in front of the police).
At the end of the segment, Samay thanked Kapil and said, “Thank you so much ki Indian Police se hamare show mein koi aaya. Isse hamare show ki credibility aur badh gayi” (Thank you that someone from the Indian Police came to our show. It has increased our show’s credibility).
Kapil Dinkar’s Dreams and Aspirations
Kapil has big dreams beyond his police duties. He has expressed a desire to sing for Akshay Kumar and Yo Yo Honey Singh. He also revealed during a podcast that he received an offer to audition for Akshay Kumar’s game show, Wheel of Fortune. Although he was thrilled to be approached by Akshay’s team, he ultimately was not selected.
