The Watcher has made another surprise appearance in X-Men ’97, and this time his cameo carries a much bigger meaning than fans first realized. The cosmic observer, known for watching major events across the Marvel multiverse, showed up in Season 2, Episode 6 titled “Danger.exe” right before a game-changing moment for one of the show’s most beloved characters.
This marks the second time Uatu the Watcher has appeared in the animated series. That same logic applies to his Season 2 appearance. The Watcher showing up signals that something massive is about to happen — and Gambit’s resurrection is exactly that kind of event.
