John Cena’s latest comedy film Little Brother made its debut on Netflix on June 26, 2026. The movie brings together a talented ensemble cast led by Cena and Eric André, with supporting performances from familiar faces across film and television.
What Is Little Brother About?
The film follows Rudd Landy (John Cena), a successful real estate agent who lives in the shadow of his wealthy older brother Josh (Christopher Meloni). Rudd’s carefully built life gets turned upside down when Marcus Pinchel (Eric André), a man he mentored decades ago through a Big Brother program, suddenly reappears.
Marcus, who has escaped from a mental health facility, believes he and Rudd share a close bond thanks to years of emails sent by Rudd’s assistant Mia (Sherry Cola), who had been pretending to be Rudd. What follows is a chaotic comedy that blends raunchy humor with emotional moments.
The film also features Michelle Monaghan as Rudd’s wife Deirdre, who enthusiastically welcomes Marcus into their home. Director Matt Spicer, known for Ingrid Goes West, helms the project from a script by Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel.
Main Cast
John Cena as Rudd Landy
John Cena plays the lead role of Rudd, a tightly wound real estate broker who is deeply insecure despite his professional success. Critics have called this one of Cena’s best comedy performances. Cena described his character as “more vulnerable, more dramatic,” while Eric André handles most of the physical comedy. The actor, known for his WWE career and films like The Suicide Squad and Trainwreck, even taught his co-star Christopher Meloni some Mandarin phrases during filming.
Eric André as Marcus Pinchel
Eric André, best known for his surreal The Eric Andre Show, plays the eccentric and chaotic Marcus. Marcus is a mental patient who escapes from a facility to reconnect with his childhood mentor. André described the film as “kind of like What About Bob? meets Parasite.” He shared that his best memory from set was teasing director Matt Spicer, joking that he added gray hairs to the filmmaker’s mustache.
Michelle Monaghan as Deirdre
Michelle Monaghan, known for The White Lotus, plays Deirdre, Rudd’s supportive wife who welcomes Marcus into their home and participates in some of the film’s wildest gross-out gags. She also shared that John Cena would often play classical music on the piano in his trailer between takes.
