The upcoming KBS 2TV weekend drama “A Love Other Than Yours” is set to hit screens on September 12, 2026, bringing together two of South Korea’s most loved actors. Seo Kang Jun and Ahn Eun Jin star as a couple who have been together for ten years, but their relationship faces unexpected challenges when new people enter their lives.
The 14-episode series will air on KBS 2TV every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 p.m. KST. Viewers around the world can also watch it on Amazon Prime Video, which will release the show in more than 240 countries and territories on the same day. For Indian audiences, the drama will begin streaming on Prime Video from September 12 as well.
A Decade-Long Relationship Facing New Emotions
The drama follows Namgoong Ho (played by Seo Kang Jun) and Lee Mi Do (played by Ahn Eun Jin), a couple who have been dating for ten years. They first met when they were seven years old and grew up together as friends before becoming a couple. Now in their tenth year of dating, they face unfamiliar emotions that challenge the relationship they once thought was unshakable.
Namgoong Ho works as an assistant manager on the TF team at Hunmin Confectionery. He is known as a friendly person who makes others feel comfortable quickly. His daily life follows a strict routine. He goes to work at the same time every day, takes care of his plants, cooks his own meals, and looks after his girlfriend who lives in the apartment across from him. For him, an ordinary day spent caring for the person he loves is his greatest happiness.
Lee Mi Do is a film director. She was once a promising newcomer after her university graduation film got international attention. But her career has hit a rough patch. The films she wants to make keep getting cancelled. Unlike her boyfriend’s structured life, her days have no set routine. She keeps writing screenplays and refuses to give up on her dream of filmmaking. When things do not go her way, she goes to karaoke to release her stress.
The couple’s opposite personalities have helped them balance each other over the years. But now, cracks are forming in how they see life and love. New and unfamiliar emotions start to enter a relationship that once seemed stable and permanent.
New Characters Enter the Picture
The drama introduces two new characters who shake up the couple’s relationship. Lee Joo Ahn plays Han Tae Seung, a lawyer who works for a film company. He constantly clashes with Lee Mi Do over her directing fee and copyright agreement. He even calls her “a total lunatic” at one point. But he soon grows curious about her and begins hovering around her.
Lee Joo Ahn shared his thoughts about his character, saying, “Despite my concerns, I ended up reading the entire script in one sitting”. He described Han Tae Seung as a cool-headed and straightforward person who has a deep desire to be loved. He called Lee Mi Do “a great flood that broke through the walls around Han Tae Seung’s heart”.
Jo Aram plays Park Soo Ah, a new employee at Hunmin Confectionery. She develops an unusual relationship with her direct superior, Namgoong Ho. When Namgoong Ho tries to lecture her, she pushes back by accusing him of workplace issues.
Jo Aram described her character as someone with strong convictions. She said, “Once she decides she wants to do something, she doesn’t give up easily and sees it through to the end”. She added that Park Soo Ah’s greatest charm is that she does not hide her feelings and expresses them honestly.
What the Teasers Reveal
The production team has released several teaser videos that give viewers a glimpse of what to expect. One teaser shows the couple’s relationship changes. It starts with Lee Mi Do asking, “You don’t get butterflies when you see me anymore, do you?”. The video shows their passionate past and their familiar present after ten years together. Namgoong Ho responds, “We’ve been together for ten years. How can it stay passionate forever?”.
The teaser also shows the new relationships forming. Park Soo Ah openly pursues Namgoong Ho at work, while Han Tae Seung appears in front of Lee Mi Do. Lee Mi Do notices Park Soo Ah’s feelings for her boyfriend. Han Tae Seung tells Lee Mi Do, “I can help you escape,” and later challenges Namgoong Ho by asking, “How much do you know?”.
A highlight video released by KBS offers a deeper look into the couple’s love story. In his narration, Namgoong Ho says, “Lee Mi Do is the brightest person among everyone I know. She is the greatest hero of my life, the person who saved me time and time again when I had already died inside at the age of seven”. However, the video shows that those around them view their relationship differently. While Namgoong Ho has a stable job, Lee Mi Do’s future as a film director remains uncertain.
Behind the Scenes
“A Love Other Than Yours” is directed by Hwang Seung-ki, known for his work on “Into the Ring,” “The Matchmakers,” and “Radio Romance”. He is recognised for his visually striking framing and unique romance storytelling. The drama is co-directed by Lee Ga-ram and written by Yoo Su-ji, who previously worked on “Somehow18”.
The production team released stills showing the contrast between the lead characters’ daily lives. Namgoong Ho is shown as a dedicated office worker who carefully manages household chores and cares for his girlfriend. Lee Mi Do is shown as someone who keeps chasing her dreams despite facing real-life obstacles.
Ahn Eun Jin recently talked about working with Seo Kang Jun. She compared his real-life appearance to “a work of art in a textbook”. The two actors are working together for the first time in this drama.
Lee Joo Ahn spoke about his chemistry with Ahn Eun Jin, saying, “At one point, her lines stopped sounding like scripted dialogue and felt like genuine words coming from Ahn Eun Jin. I decided to simply trust her and let myself act comfortably”.
Jo Aram also shared her experience working with Seo Kang Jun, saying she learned a lot on set and relied on him during filming.
