Tamil cinema star Suriya is set to end 2026 with a bang. The actor’s 47th film, which was tentatively called Suriya 47, now has an official title: Scene. Director Jithu Madhavan, known for the Malayalam blockbuster Aavesham, has crafted an action comedy where Suriya plays a police officer named DSP Inbaraj—a cop with a unique style and a dangerous reputation. The title teaser dropped on September 9, 2026, and it has already created a buzz among movie lovers.

What The Title Teaser Shows

The one-minute-twenty-second teaser gives audiences a proper look at Suriya’s character. The video opens with a voice saying, “You guys keep showcasing his talent to hide and mask his despicable character.” Then, Suriya arrives at a crime scene dressed in a cop uniform. He asks a constable, “Who killed whom?” The constable replies, “You are here to find that out.”

A jail warden warns the prisoners about Inbaraj’s arrival. He says, “When suspects see Inbaraj sir, they start behaving in an erratic fashion.” The warden orders everyone back to their cells, adding, “No one should step outside. Inbaraj sir is coming.”

The teaser then shows Suriya walking with his arm on a constable’s shoulder. He delivers a chilling line: “Take a good look at my face. To you, I might be the only cop to have ever arrested you. But to me, you are one among the 900 odd criminals I’ve locked up in prison.”

Suriya’s Character: DSP Inbaraj

Suriya plays DSP Inbaraj, a cop who does not follow rules and pays little attention to codes and ethics. He is described as an erratic and quirky officer who is still very good at catching criminals. The teaser suggests his character might be visually impaired, though this detail remains unclear.

This role marks a return to the cop genre for Suriya, who is famously known for his Singham character. But Scene promises a different take on the familiar territory. The character is not a typical heroic cop. He has a fun nature and a quirky personality, which matches the style of Jithu Madhavan’s previous films.

Release Date And Diwali Plans

The makers have confirmed that Scene will hit theaters worldwide on November 6, 2026. The date coincides with Diwali (Deepavali), making it one of the biggest releases of the festive season.
