A new teaser for the upcoming JTBC drama “The Dream Life of Mr. Kim“ shows actor Ryu Seung Ryong facing unexpected challenges in his climb up the corporate ladder. The series is scheduled to premiere on October 25, 2025.
The show is based on a popular webtoon and follows the life of a middle-aged man who loses everything he once believed was important. Through his journey, he discovers that his real value is not in his job title but in being his true self.
The Plot: A Seemingly Perfect Life
Ryu Seung Ryong plays Kim Nak Soo, the head of Sales Team 1 at a large corporation called ACT. He has worked at the company for 25 years and has never once missed a promotion. On the surface, his life looks perfect. He owns an apartment in Seoulโa dream for manyโand has a stable family life with his wife and a son attending a prestigious university.
He is so confident in his career that he declares, “I’m 99.9 percent confirmed for an executive promotion next year. It’s a done deal.” His boss even calls him “treasure No. 1,” highlighting his valued position at the company.
The Crisis: A Sudden Downfall
The new teaser highlights a turning point in Kim Nak Soo’s stable life. He begins to falter when a younger colleague quickly surpasses him. This leads to him making uncharacteristic mistakes, facing scoldings from his superiors, and watching his reputation crumble. The drama’s caption “Human Documentary: Life Theater” suggests a realistic and relatable look at the lives of office workers.

Ryu Seung Ryong is joined by co-stars Myung Se-bin, who plays his wife Park Ha Jin, and Cha Kang-yoon, who plays his son Kim Su Gyeom.
